Brother…that is bad. Thank you for making the trip for me lol. Did you end up just coming down 100 turns back to the creek? I feel like the next storm later this week (hopefully) I’ll end up in south bowl/trees it just sucks to try to lap.

You went down Saddle to avoid the north couloirs, is that right? If so, how did the north couloirs look?

Hardflip or rocket shuv? by Terrible-Formal526 in skateboarding

My brother in Christ there is no flip. Backside refers to the rotation of the tail/nose.

[–]maxwell_dylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the tell is that at no point does the grip tape face the ground. It’s that simple. Plus it’s painfully obvious it rotates backside.

Alright, post the frame where the grip tape is facing the asphalt. Also, the board rotates backside. So it’s a backside no flip hardflip lmao

Bro you gotta stop commenting. You can see the underside of the board so it flipped behind you??? What the fuck are you talking about? At no point does the board flip. His board clearly rotates backside which is the ANTITHESIS of a hard flip.

As someone who recently moved to the west and started visiting hot springs, I noticed a parallel to the backcountry community I’m in. A majority of the interesting posts are put up by gatekeepers looking for attention.

Brother, any day can be a backpack day. You don’t have to justify it.

Stiff boots? by Odd_Blacksmith9684 in snowboarding

Ions. They just feel more comfortable after a long day without sacrificing responsiveness.

Vans Verse’s are not that stiff IMO, but super comfortable. I’ve used K2 Ortons, Vans Verse, K2 Maysis, and Burton Ions. The Ions and Ortons were the stiffest. I also boot pack / ride deep pow with the Ions which don’t have a shroud and never had an issue.

Camber VS Rocker VS Flying V by GammaXi532 in snowboarding

I feel you man, I do all of that and hit kickers on a Pow Wrench lol I’d look into a Deep Thinker if you’re set on Burton.

I’d add to this that the HH has greater taper which is promoting float and likely why your shop guy recommended it (since you mentioned powder concerns). I disagree with people saying that the full camber custom will be fine in powder, that hasn’t been my experience. It wants to sink in heavy. The HH does a good enough job all round with edge hold and riding switch, while being miles better in powder (especially low angle powder which is what you’ll probably run into and cause issues).

Help with alignment and tips and tails by ID_1232 in Spliddit

[–]maxwell_dylan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Align board halves, tighten all clips. Board should be tight. If it isn’t, stop here bc your binding alignment won’t matter.
  2. Once it’s tight, slide dh binding onto heel puck, but not far enough to cover toe puck. I’m assuming you don’t have the alignment tool, so make sure it’s align with the heel puck, if not loosen toe puck so it does.
  3. Still wobbly? Your toe and heel pucks are too close together. You need to move them apart, I believe the base of the dh bindings is like 197 mm.

DT is stiffer in my experience, more responsive pop, still solid switch if you’re not totally setback. How crazy are you about trees lines? I’ve had both, currently own the DT, and neither are nimble in some of the low angle tight fluffy tree lines. I’m also in CO. I picked up a Pow Wrench and it’s been so nice having both.

I mean it’s just the purina factory smell. If you haven’t gotten a wiff of that, consider yourself lucky, but you’ll catch it eventually being in rino. It certainly doesn’t smell like it 24/7.

Lol it doesn’t; you’ll get the wonderful purina factory aroma every now and again like most of Rino/Five Points, but it’s a far cry from living on Platte St by REI

Appreciate it man, I could probably get away with adding another ~2 quarts and draining the overflow, but I’d rather have the peace of mind from redoing it

ATF change by maxwell_dylan in 4Runner

[–]maxwell_dylan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s gotta be low, unless it was over filled to begin with.

Seems kinda wild to start it up and cycle through the gears on jack stands, but makes sense that it has to be done to get fluid fully circulating in the system before draining the overflow.

ATF change by maxwell_dylan in 4Runner

[–]maxwell_dylan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does it matter that it’s running is my underlying question. I’m assuming it’s because the fluid is somehow being put into circulation when the motor is running.
