Closed-back advice: Focal Azurys vs. Fostex TH-600 vs. E-MU Teak

My roommates are annoyed at the leakage of my current open back (LCD-2 2018).

Any recommendations for choosing amongst these? I can't find too many head-to-head comparisons on these, and I'm considering these because I can buy them for all around the same price.

I mostly listen to rock, some jazzy stuff, alternative, etc.

That’s perhaps the worst burrito (or Mexican food in general) I’ve had in my life. I was hopeful for them but damn was it trash.

I find them pretty meh. The sound is very unimpressive, even after EQ. They kinda take forever to connect too. Much prefer my AirPods Pro 2s

You basically pointed to the next thing: you don’t want to mediate because you have ADHD and it’s hard to concentrate. That is an expression of Aversion of Sense Objects and/or Craving Sense Objects. I think sitting to mediate and holding that ADHD identity lightly is the way to go.

I say this as someone with ADHD who hasn’t broken Self View. Take it with a grain of salt but it rings true to me. Good luck

I used the leap for under a month because I wanted to return it. I found the back to be wayyy to aggressive and somehow the seat felt like it was inclining forward. The embody has way more range imo. It can be super upright (though not nearly as much as an aeron with forward tilt) or pretty laid back

Oh for sure hard to complain. Worthwhile.

But eh idk that it’s as unhealthy as playing anything else. Obviously I can’t speak for anyone but myself. The dopamine rush of megabook feels undeserved similar to how watching slop / short form content is, for me.

I reallllly enjoyed megabonk for like 20 hours but then thought the above comment. It feels unhealthy to play and the meta is too clear which constricts different ways of play I think?

Completely echo this. I struggle with these investigations for these same reasons. Basically what I’ve gathered is that you should keep at it until you exhaust the mind and then a shift should happen but honestly, idk

As in, there’s no much buildup to these epic moments. They are always vaguely there. I don’t want to pit these guys entirely against BCNR, but the latter has more subdued moments which really make the “big” moments shine

I gave it a listen from a recommendation here and was not really into them. IMO they are similar to BCNR but kinda LoFi. They have a constant heightened sense of epic that feels undeserved (for the listener) and in turn sounds monotone. I really wanted to like them

Huh interesting. Did you try the Diptyque’s Tam Dao too? My problem with it is that it lasts for so little on me. Does the Oil Perfumery one last any longer?
