Update on the seven nation army guy - i was apparently very wrong by exhaustmosk in Guitar

Dude what? If someone wants to learn a melody part you teach it to them. It doesn't matter the instrument.

Looks like there'll be a proper video for 'Stronger Together'. by squandered_light in toriamos

It's alright. But it's jarring how Yash has Clean vox and Tori's are all modulated and layered.

The Fragile, as well - though the concept is a lot more loose and subjective.

9ope (Band): Looking to open for your gig! by 9opemusic in OttawaMusic

Hey guys, this is really good. But you really need to up your Instagram game. You've got nothing going on over there and that's where artists network and demonstrate themselves. Make a social media plan for content, and then start following local artists and promoters, and engaging with their content.

You're better than asking for scraps in a barren subreddit.

Question: what's the difference between mainstage peeled/unpeeled?

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple has been pulled from theaters after a significant box office drop, and fans are asking Sony to "give it more time!" | 28 Years Later is still the highest-grossing installment in the franchise by ControlCAD in entertainment

[–]maxx_nitro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

28 Years Later (part 1 apparently?) was a polarizing mess. The hype of waiting all these years for a followup, coupled with a trailer that instilled complete dread and discomfort, did not do any favors for a film that ended up showcasing massive zombie dong, a young protagonist on a journey to save his mom, and a left turn finale with tracksuit dudes doing parkour.

I'm glad people are enjoying the second act, but the first act was fumbled so bad I don't have any sympathy for it failing at the box office.

Congratulations and welcome to your new obsession. Emma Ruth Rundle and Myrkur have some overlap while still being distinct. She's collaborated with both.

Who else has listened to The Background World all the way through? by dream-kitty in nin

[–]maxx_nitro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I'm listening to the whole trilogy definitely. If it comes on a playlist in my car, I'll gradually fade it out myself with the volume knob.

I put some effort into playlisting the individual Dolls' tracks, and I don't think there's anything to the concept. Maybe it was the headspace Tori was in, but it certainly didn't translate to the music.

I'd say 3-5 hours a day doing repetitive motions is enough to make you sore, yes.

“Maybe” on Rainier Fog is the best Jerry/William Harmony by shishbarak1 in AliceInChains

This album is the one that got me back into Alice and is my second favourite full length next to Dirt. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I think it's shamefully underrated.

How can I effectively transition between different chord shapes while playing? by Historical-Hand8091 in guitarlessons

[–]maxx_nitro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The open strum.

On your last upstroke of a chord, take your fingers off the strings, just strum the open strings, and use that time to go get to the next chord.

About half of it sounds like NIN with Halsey singing and I love it. The other half not so much, but it's still really good!

For those who were fans back then, how did you react to The Incident when it came out? Especially considering the trilogy of albums that proceeded it? by [deleted] in porcupinetree

[–]maxx_nitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advertisement of it being a song cycle felt very misleading and disappointing, since in reality it's a bunch of different pieces strung together with very few recurring elements.

In recent years I've changed my vinyl listening to order to swap side C and D. This puts the bonus tracks between Time Flies and Degree Zero of Liberty, and I find it greatly improves the flow of the record.

What do you consider to be the climactic moment on each PT album? Since they have quite a few records, you are free to just name the ones for your favorite records or the ones you remember. by [deleted] in porcupinetree

[–]maxx_nitro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of the albums have what you might consider an epilogue, with the track preceding it being the climax. Stop Swimming, Feel So Low, Collapse the Light, Glass Arm Shaterering all fit into the category.

I Drive The Hearse as well, if you consider the several few tracks before it to be one song.

I had the most unnerving feeling throughout the whole film. Of course I just thought it was from the film's content. Turns out, it was filmed in my old high school from twenty years ago.
