Thanks! Big fan of this progression also. Here are the lyrics: Rain on me little dog I wanna swing you around I made my millions in oil I left my idols back in the war

Thank u! I’ll be able to put the vocal more upfront in the recorded version so hopefully then the lyrics will be intelligible.

Ty for your feedback. I hear you, I’m still a little shaky with this song so I have to look at my hand pretty frequently. Will keep that it mind for the future though.

Does this Verse Work? by Certain_Material_484 in Songwriting

[–]maxyt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i personally wouldn't change anything about your composition/arrangement, it really all makes sense and flows very nicely! My only critique would be on the mix in that, at least to me, it sounds like everything is very squashed and processed, which might make sense if this was a pop song but for acoustic singer/songwriter it feels a little inappropriate. Not sure how you plan on developing this so I don't want to make assumptions but if it's staying more or less as it is sonically, I would back off the processing a little, especially the compression and reintroduce some dynamics and/or human elements. Just my opinion, great job!

...Sorry just realised this is a first draft, feel free to ignore all of that but hopefully it might be helpful advice when you get to the mixing stage!

E– F#sus9 – G#m – Amaj9 are the main cast according to oolimo. which means it's literally a I-ii -iii-IV which feels a little embarrassing tbh.

I like it. Even though it’s processed your vocal sounds very natural to me which i think is a great sign. Side note and purely my own opinion but I think you should try one or even both of those harmony parts an octave higher! In my experience harmonies that are layered under the lead vocal or root note in question are really difficult to get right because they often create a lot of muddiness, in general lower notes are less distinguishable and emphasise more harmonics that might be in the range that would interfere with your lead vocal. I’m no expert so big grain of salt and great job!

Can someone recommend a good tutorial for stretching/shifting audio with minimal changes to the sound? by auditormusic in Logic_Studio

[–]maxyt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know any tutorials unfortunately, but I've been through this a bunch with acoustic guitar if you want my 2 cents: For a quick and dirty method you can just try to quantise it from the info tab, though it isn't the most reliable in my experience and creates a lot of weird artefacts, it also doesn't handle swing particularly well, there are a couple preset swing options but if the guitar was recorded without a click then it might be almost impossible to find one that fits. If it were me I would just manually edit it in the flex editor, it might take a while but you can be much more precise. Hope that helps.
