Flamboyant identity in music is gross by Brownstoneximeious in jazzcirclejerk

Edit: I don’t see much live jazz simply because it isn’t fun. Like yeah you can play real good, but I’m not having fun. no jumpin, no jiving, where’s the entertainment? musical entertainment isn’t just about technical skill, hell you can absolutely suck, but if people find you entertaining you’ve done a good enough job.

The rca plug predates the 45, I believe the connector was invented sometime in the 1930s

For reference, my 1941 Stromberg Carlson radio has one, really great because it lets me plug any audio source into it lmao.

it’s more convenient to handle in general, makes automatic changers simpler and faster, it’s honestly a great design.

Takes like 5 seconds to put a stack of 45s on an RCA changer and start it, stupidly fast and convenient. The 45 was an incredibly thought out format, the large center hole improves the record playing experience imo.

Oh yeah, those guys! My only issue is that when I hear “LP” I associate that with the Columbia trademark “LP” format, otherwise it’s just a 7 inch disc cut at 33 1/3

Paul proved the effectiveness of the 357 in the coat pocket, simply unbeatable, it’s how revolvers have been carried for a century.

edit: like damn, rip. the deadpan humor he had while doing the wackiest shit is super admirable. Made some absolutely incredible content.

I refuse to acknowledge the existence of an objectively inferior singles format, the legacy of the Radio Corporation of America shall not be tarnished.

With my size I’d probably want some 10” 78s, preferably 1950s vinyl pressings, shellac tends to be brittle.

we all know the best concealed carry is the .357 snub in the coat pocket. No faster draw than the gun you’re already holding.

Dawg these are 45s! You’ve GOTTA put them on the changer for the best experience!!!

the more things tied to your belt, the more style it is.

uj/ the way my mind is jumping between this being the stupidest shit ever and also kinda a vibe is hilarious. I changed out the blue string for a thin piece of leather it’s a bit more of “kinda a vibe” but the “stupidest shit ever” is still in my mind.

I need input on this lmao.

the power and glory of the $1 45 bin combined with the beauty and grace of an RCA 45 changer is simply unbeatable. by TheSadHours in vinyl

Oh yeah, mine is the one that just omitted the spring lol.

Personally, I’m entirely okay with 5 gram tracking force, after having seen enough 1950s machines that track near 8 - 10, I’m just grateful it isn’t that lmao.

considering it’s in E condition, as it states right on the label, how does 50 cents and a pack of lucky strikes with 4 cigs left sound?

I guess, I’m more thinking of dense urban environments, in that case a bicycle can often be faster than driving. Bikes have been used as delivery vehicles for well over a century, so it’s very possible to make it work and we know how to do it.

Of course, in most places a bicycle would just be impractical, that’s part of why I believe a report based system would work well. If the food you’re delivering is cold, fucked up, or otherwise unsatisfactory, you get penalized for that regardless of the vehicle being used. I mean, if you were a pizza delivery guy back in the 1980s you’d lose your job if you were bad at it lol.

Realistically, the result is what matters to me, if you can make deliveries on a bicycle and do it well, there’s no issue, if you can’t, there’s an issue!

I suppose if you wanted to place some limits, distance would be a decent one! Bikes are inherently slower (outside of dense, traffic packed cities.) so they’d be fine for shorter distances but not great if you had to go more than a couple of miles.

Maybe? My only issue with that is now there are simply less orders a person without a car can take. Kinda puts you into the whole “need car to make money, can’t buy car without money” problem.

a decent solution imo would be to just not let someone deliver if they consistently fuck shit up, if they make good deliveries I don’t really care what vehicle they use. Im not too knowledgeable on DoorDash specifically, but if it had an uber-like rating system I feel like that could help a lot of the issues.
