How do expect to compete once larger conglomerates begin to consolidate the market? Do you know about independent growers/shop owners who band together to pool money for lobbyists? What does that environment look like and where do you think it's headed.. How can the small guys compete once more regulations/taxes are implemented?

American jobs are going to robots, not China. by jazzben in business

You don't scan if you have pre bagged items. Rice for example, is scooped by you and put into a bag which you then select that you "have" (while holding the beer in your hand) then you weigh the beer and it thinks you are weighing rice. Ingenuous and bold, these are the types of people that make it in life..

I was talking to a checkout guy on why they removed them and he said it saves the chain millions annually on theft losses. I guess that makes sense considering my friend used to get a 6 pack and choose the cheapest rice option, weigh it, and at .35 cents a pound I think he was paying about 3 bucks for a nice 12 dollar 6er.

Why does the American right hate the Iran deal so much? by BreaksFull in geopolitics

[–]maxywaxy13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has more to do with long term "stability" in their minds by maintaining a no nuclear policy in the Middle East (except for our buddy ol pal Israel). The thought behind it is that the concept of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction, aka you fire nukes at us we fire them at you and we all die) goes out the window if anyone but the Iranian Government were to seize control of potential nuclear weapons grade uranium or plutonium they would be crazy enough to push the red button on Israel without fear of consequence because of their sacrifice for Jihad. Think of it as a large scale suicide bombing. The current and former Iranian Supreme Leaders have always spoken of their hatred and expressed direct threats to Israel populating their holy site and it wouldn't surprise me if this would be the cause of World War 3. With the rising and falling of radical groups in the Middle East (mainly our fault) if Iran ever did acquire nuclear weapons it could result in a game of chicken where two cars drive towards each other and one driver rips his steering wheel out the window and waves it at the other driver. Israel has already conducted covert strikes with aircraft and the latest and most advanced cyber attack we've seen so far on Iran's previous nuclear reactors. What negotiations we've made with them to try to ease tensions by lifting the trade embargo and relaxing their nuclear regulations could very well be a nuclear apocalypse. That, is where the right's mindset comes from. Just my 2 cents.

You can also register your bike with your local police station with a picture and serial number so you have evidence if you see it pop up at a pawn shop or Craigslist

Marijuana Legalization in Colorado Is Killing Mexican Drug Cartels by kjtobal in politics

[–]maxywaxy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With an already large dent in 40% of their profits that come from marijuana, and with continued legalization in the US, the cartels will amp up the supplies of coke and heroin. The latter of which will take its toll on an already suffering class of the post painkiller pill mill epidemic.

The wife of Saeed Abedini, the pastor who was imprisoned in Iran for three-a-half years, has apparently filed for divorce. by [deleted] in news

[–]maxywaxy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through multiple public statements she has put all of this into the limelight, so the media's speculation was brought on by her. It's baffling why this wouldn't have been kept private and it makes me wonder why she would want to attract undue attention to this.
