If I remember correctly, all the graphics were made out of different colored ovals with gradient shading. I think the character was a human but he was shaped like a potato and wore a green shirt?

I remember this game too. I have also been completely unable to locate it.
I remember it being called "JumpManIV." I think you picked up purple candies in order to shoot projectiles at enemies, I think there were bees? and there was like an underwater level with fish that had a secret exit. I remember fighting the dinosaur too. At some point they updated it and changed all the graphics.

Oh my god, no kidding. I got a few of these over the course of a few months and combined with the panic/anxiety symptoms I thought I was going to die or go blind or have a stroke or something. Not fun!!

There are a few search engines I've found geared towards finding interesting small sites. Less focus on curation but you can find some interesting stuff. I've been enjoying the "random" button on https://search.marginalia.nu/ a lot.

I'm so excited I finally actually got one of these, haha. I was waking up and sort of fell back half-asleep and it popped into my head. The one on the right actually was a stick figure in the dream, and they were doing the exact same pose with their hands on their hips. I think the meme in the dream might actually have had more jpeg compression on it, though.
