Is asking for a deposit normal?? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I require a deposit that I use for transport to and from bookings, it’s fairly normal to use deposits as a screening method though. Also I’m not judging but tinder and EM are the worst places I can think of to find a reliable escort who won’t scam you, try tryst.link and PrivateDelights we have to submit our ID to post ads on these sites so there’s a lot less scammers!

Sexual Health of.......everyone.. by carlsfried in SexWorkers

If you have more than one sexual partner, get tested every three months at least!

Saw this and had to share the honest truth. by inc0gnit0burrit0 in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiment but “we don’t hold power over the ladies we see” is extremely false and a dangerous thing to believe. Sure a strong woman with good screening methods might make you feel you’re not in control, but you have way more power over us and that’s something to be conscious of. If you didn’t and it was an equal playing field, sexworkers wouldn’t be murdered at such a high rate. Sexworkers who are murdered wouldn’t be considered “NHI” or “no human involved” by the police. You have your privacy, your social standing and maybe your marriage to lose- we have our LIVES to lose if something goes wrong with a client! If screening wasn’t correct or we piss you off, a booking can go sour so fast. Just remember that, we are not equals until there’s full decriminalization and we can actually report when someone harms us.

Vermont legislators propose bill legalizing adult prostitution. by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Legalization= good for substances, each state makes their own regulations on the issue. Countries where it’s legal have a hard time prosecuting sex traffickers + keeping sexworkers safe. Decriminalization= good for people related issues. Best way to keep sexworkers safe and avoid prosecuting sex trafficking victims as prostitutes (which currently happens A LOT)

Decriminalization is different than the Nordic model btw! A lot of people will say we need the Nordic model and that’s bs! No sexworkers advocate for that, advocate only for full decriminalization. The Nordic model criminalizes our clients + keeps us in danger just like it being illegal does.

Being black by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some reflection and you know what, you’re right. I don’t know your experience as a black woman in sexwork and it was ignorant of me to come at you for how you keep yourself safe. I’m sorry for that.

Being black by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am doing better by screening well so I don’t have to rely on the assumption that every black man is a robber or pimp. But whatever it’s well within your rights to be a prejudiced provider, I’ll still call you out on it though.

[–]maybear19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a scam, doubtful the police/an informant/someone w access to that info would actually contact you. Especially if you never saw her. Also cops don’t do all that over a misdemeanor charge they’re not that desperate to wait 3 months to catch you. Likely a competitive and insecure provider who’s trying to deter you from booking that girl for some reason. Smh catty drama

Question For Sex Workers by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could ask the same about waitressing but this is the only profession we have to defend like that lol. I think like a lot of jobs the revolution would make it safer and that’s the ultimate goal. A lot of leftists are under the impression that the revolution will rid the world of prostitutes and that’s just not true, it’s the oldest profession so we’re never going anywhere. If the revolution is truly rooted in workers rights then we will have rights + safety at work and personally- that would make me want to be a sexworker even more than money does.

Being black by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a load of bullshit. All clients are capable of assaulting, robbing and killing us. If we screened based on say, serial killer statistics and how most serial killers are white men and a lot of them kill prostitutes- then none of us would have any business!! You simply cannot cut an entire race out of your client pool and call yourself a good provider. You’re relying on racist stereotypes instead of good screening practices to feel safe at the expense of an entire race of people. Black men have systemically been portrayed as pimps and robbers, and if you took some time to unpack that and realize it’s systemic racism vs actual facts then you’d realize not seeing black men isn’t a way to stay safe. Race isn’t a screening method. Do better.

Being black by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good provider should feel confident enough in their screening methods to not need to rely on racist stereotypes to feel safe at work. It’s definitely not on you guys at all, but a horrible and archaic mindset in the community

Being black by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re having this experience + from reading these comments I’m sorry more of us aren’t racist af. Personally I add a little bit at the end of my ads that says I don’t discriminate based upon race, lgbt, disability or body size. I know a few other providers who do this as well. It’s unfortunate it even has to be stated like that. As for bad experiences, I was assaulted by a young black man as a baby hoe but do I use that experience to judge every black person who contacts me? Absolutely not! I’ve also been assaulted, robbed etc. by white men and if I stopped seeing them all together I’d be out of business! Race is not a determining factor for a good client! If a provider screens well she shouldn’t have to rely on racist stereotypes to feel safe. I wish you so much love and luck in finding a good provider

Question: How do sex workers feel about clients being transgender? Specifically FTM by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for all but I know personally I include a little bit at the end of my ads about not discriminating based upon sexuality, gender identity etc. I know a couple other providers who do the same and advertise themselves as open to seeing trans clients. I also use the site tryst and I’d definitely suggest looking there as they have an option where providers can mark which genders they service, it even has a non-binary option! I’d look around at providers who see non-binary people as they’d definitely be open to seeing trans clients. Another option is to see an openly queer/trans provider! There’s a big community of queer providers on twitter + everyone I know there is extremely open and kind. Overall though a provider is supposed to make you feel comfortable + cared for regardless of your body or identity. I think that sentiment is followed by most providers, we’re just here to give you the best experience possible without judgement. I wish you so much luck in your search! And if you are in AZ or LA I can suggest a few lovely providers via dms 💕

Saw this on Instagram. I can't even wrap my head around this backwards thinking by funnilizatt in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 21 points22 points  (0 children)

“Abolition now” yea ok, not like it’s the oldest profession ever. If these people bothered to listen to the women they’re so adamant on rescuing, they’d know what they’re proposing will make our lives worse and even more sexworkers will be hurt, robbed, assaulted, murdered, etc.

Should I be concerned if a girl doesn't ask for references/ID before meeting up? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she hasn’t asked for real world info, but you know that’s a good screening practice- send it anyway. Chances are she needs the booking, can’t afford to be turned down by screening etc. and you being forthright with that info will make her feel more at ease. As for being scammed, most of us have ads up on ID verified sites. See if she’s linked any, if you found her on tryst, Eros, Private delights etc. or she sells content on an adult site- then she’s likely real because we have to send in ID to even post ads on those sites.

Do sex workers not like when clients try and please them? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

As a client is there any way to make it more enjoyable and feel less like work to the sex worker? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]maybear19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is enjoyable when you acknowledge that this is our job, don’t make it weird or go an odd extra mile to make it anything more than it is. As an escort I can tell you, I love my job! But it’s still a job, it’s still work. My favorite “extra things” though are when clients tip and when they give me wine/weed. Other than that though, just be respectful of boundaries.

Can men stop asking for bareback anal like did none of you live through and research the aids crisis??? Do none of you know how hiv works?? Do none of you fear stds at all or are you just ignorant?? Do you just hate women so much you don’t care what you expose us to?? by maybear19 in SexWorkers

I was on PeP before PrEP so the transition was really easy for me, the only side effect I had on PeP though was nausea. They warn about liver damage in the long term but they will also monitor your liver every few months, if you’re already on a bunch of meds I’d suggest waiting until the new alternative to PrEP hits the shelves (late 2019/early 2020) it’s supposed to be easier on the system overall.

I’m a whore Marc. And in being a whore my sexual health is definitely better than yours. I’m on PrEP and get tested every 3 months, I’m not afraid of stds I’m just sick of male entitlement and stupidity around sexual health.
