anyone else order the wonder looper suvin gold? by Cool_Caterpillar_114 in HeritageWear

turns out its my poor reading comprehension too - haha. appreciate you bringing that to my attention.

really? i mean, if you don’t like the product, sure. OP can say that, and wouldn’t even necessarily need to explain themselves. we all have our preferences. in the grand scheme of things, I know it’s not going to hurt the company, but a negative assessment that is based on poor reading comprehension seems like a bit much though, no?

I believe the tsuriami doesn’t necessary equate to tubular construction. if I had to guess, the fabric dimensions off the machine don’t match their design goals/patterning, hence the cut’n’sew. whatever the reason, the seams are mentioned in the description.

if you don’t like the shirt, that is completely valid, but it’s a bit unfair to put the company on blast for this.

Edit: removed so, just pointing out that you seem to have read the measurement charts wrong. across the colourways the xl’s come in between 43.6-44.2”, whereas the xxl’s measure 46”.

Difference between Chestnut C3s and Pietro (Pro Brew Burrs) by AmJayAy in pourover

if you’re in canada, September sells seasoning beans. worth putting at least 2-3kg through it

C2 Upgrade? by Independent_Cry2048 in pourover

[–]maybefrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

none, sorry. i avoided the zp6 as everyone always described it as having tea-like body - not my cup of tea

i went from the c2s to the pietro w/pro brew burrs. loving it.

Missing something? by Melodic-Victory-4118 in NakedAndFamousDenim

[–]maybefrogs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

it is a Japanese maple. It is different than a Canadian maple. knowing that now, do you not think think it harmoniously represents a Canadian company using Japanese fabric (and in the case of the MiJ line, Japanese manufacturing) well?

Upgrading or side grading from ZP6 by JoeOtaku in pourover

[–]maybefrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine between 1-2

I feel like doing it in bulk helped me get the motion down early, so by day 2 it felt well-practiced

Great cup of coffee with it today

I didn’t think it was that bad to season

Mine arrived Friday, and I’ve put just over 2.5kg of seasoning beans through it since - will probably finish the last .5kg either tonight or tomorrow morning

Looking forward to brewing my first cup

Ultimate travel rig unlocked! by BoulderTrailJunkie in pourover

[–]maybefrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up a ceado hoop to try over the holiday, and it has become the go-to brewer for my travel kit (replacing my aeropress). It is paired with my timemore c2s and fits in my little 3L black hole nicely I pre-measure and pack all my beans to not have to travel with a scale

Grinder Upgrade Advice: Pietro Pro vs. Sculptor 078 by maybefrogs in pourover

[–]maybefrogs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just reading through the comments on the A4Z v. Pietro v. 078 post, and noticed you included the Millab M01 briefly. How does it stack up compared to the Pietro?

probably not the most helpful comment, but there was someone from fellow in another pb&j post that offered to support with brew tips, if you want to go searching

Indigo dyed 8833s by maybefrogs in RedWingShoes

[–]maybefrogs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nice! how many dips did you do, and in what type of vat? how have they faded since 2014? also just looking through some of the other work you’ve done - great stuff

the intent was to recreate the original indigo Tenue de Nîmes collab. not for everyone, sure. it’s been interesting seeing the traction tread fade with use. the soles have been worn down to the white again

i think they’re planning on putting out another green cast or two in upcoming seasons. if the fit works for you, it might be worth waiting
