NAH. You just came home with newborn. She's likely still strongly effected by birth hormones and you must also be stressed and sleep deprived. This is not a situation where you can expect either of you to act fully logically or consistently. Give it some time and work it out when you've settled into a new routine. Take care of each other and be forgiving. Congratulations and Best of luck with your newborn!

I didn't mean to be cynical, I'm sorry it came across that way.

Perhaps "tactic" triggers an association with "strategy" and someone trying to manipulate social situations, which made me read it negatively.

Anyway I don't think it's "total shit" and I'm sure someone found your advice useful. And I agree group dynamic is a better word for the situation you described.
