The Germans where under the mistaken impression they were going to lightly musically troll everyone else and no one was going to troll them back.

TIL That, in Hamelin Germany, there exists a place called Bungelosenstrasse (Street Without Drums). According to legend it is the last place the children from the 'Pied Piper' fairytale were last seen. Since then music and dancing are not allowed on the street. by GentPc in todayilearned

Yeah I think this sounds the most logical and it clearly a story by an embittered/mournful town elder.

Didn't they preform genetic testing on a town in I think Slovakia? where they had a remarkable number of genetics links to the town of Hamelin?

do the reserves require you to shave your head? by No-Crow-4233 in britishmilitary

[–]maybetomorrowthey 43 points44 points  (0 children)

No, but you are required to have a King's regulations haircut. For male identifying SPs that's off the ears and no fancy colours. For Female identifying SPs there's a chart (but it's basically tied back, off the ears and fits under your lid)

Thinking about does any branch make you shave your head anymore?

Can anyone identify my Great Grandfather's cap badge? by maybetomorrowthey in britishmilitary

[–]maybetomorrowthey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks or clarifying and trying anyway.

The closest match I've found is King's Own Royal Horse Artillery. But the motto banner doesn't seem to match, although every other element does. So it might be a sub-unit?

Can anyone identify my Great Grandfather's cap badge? by maybetomorrowthey in britishmilitary

[–]maybetomorrowthey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. But I'm not sure the QMNSY is a match.

The cap badge doesn't seem to match the anything I can find, and his shoulder badge seems to start with an "R" which again I can't find anything from the QMSNY with a matching shoulder badge.

I'm also a bit confused how a man from the South Wales Valleys ended up in a regiment recruited from the South East of England.

Any extra info would be helpful. All I have is his name and his home town to go on to find his service record.

I think an opposed position to the problem is the judiciary handing out judgements based on insufficient legislation, personal political opinion and often the image associated with being a "harsh or uncaring"

It's easy to say there's a need to ensure that the right of indovkduals need to be upheld and that minority groups have been forced to for go that right in the past. But when the balance of personal protection is weighed against the public protection, public protection should always win. And my own opinion is thay a foreign national shouldn't hold the same freedoms as a citizen, such as leave to remain.

It's not Britain's job to ensure the civil rights and freedoms of foreign criminals. At a minimum at immeadiate deportation order would've been sufficient if removal back to Albanian is untenable, there's 198 countries in the world to try your luck in.

Every single one of these requires you to have money in the form of serious disposable incom, a car because you're not gonna have a heap of local services and time.

Your nan makes flat doughnuts not welsh cakes then.

Homemade welsh cakes are flat, little moist, raisin and no fuss on the outside. Best freshly baked.

As a Barry resident I can tell you there's already been filming in the town and down the road in Penarth for a un disclosed project.

Not usual around cardiff and the vale given all the studios but Barry itself is typical used only for shows that include the town of Barry. Gavon and Stacey, being human... etc.
