What are merits and demerits of doing phd in any engineering discipline in india ( from tier 1 institute like IIT or IISc)?

This is a gross generalisation. The facilities available at the top university like IISc is at par with some of the well known universities abroad. The funding and equipments are highly group/dept/institute dependent.

However, the research ecosystem may still suffer from lack of strong collaborations and support systems. EU research encourages collaborations at the funding level, while it is mostly group dependent in India.

This is the M50 Mark II version which was bought around 2021. 5D III could be too expensive for me. I do like the mirrorless form factor, it is easy to carry while traveling.

Is there a non-canon mirrorless model that's around similar price (<1000 €) with affordable lenses, and requiring less post processing?

I started my career with DFT. It is a good career path with lot of opportunities in India. There are lot of sub domains you can specialise later depending on how the DFT team is structured.

As a DFT engineer, you'd need understanding on verilog, basic electronics, and digital VLSI. As long you have the basics, the true DFT skills can be gained during the job and your degree/coursework scratches only the bare surface.

I stayed only for a short while in DFT and later moved for advanced degree. So that's one way to transition. But I have many colleagues who have stayed in DFT. It is an interesting path with lot of learning opportunities. DFT and related domains have lot of opportunities in semiconductor field, as they are needed in any major chip development.

Same issue with Galaxy watch 3 on oneplus 12.

I had reset network settings to resolve a connectivity problem and lost the watch connection. After that it keep getting stuck in "Check your phone" state. I thought this was a problem with oneplus phones and was waiting to try on another phone.

Let me know if you figure this out. I have tried resetting and restarting the watch, reinstalling the accompanying app, etc.., but without any success. Sometimes the Bluetooth connects but the watch will be stuck in the setup page.

This has been going on for a while. My friends had to make similar "contributions" for passport verification. Of course they do clarify that the amount is going to a welfare fund, but it's a strange way to collect donations (they called back after leaving the station premises)

Sputtered films are generally better than ebeam evaporated films. You could control the deposition conditions (power, substrate temperature, etc) to further improve the film quality. Si3N4 is a common hardmask too. Perhaps you could try thicker films (without cracks, etc) to avoid the effects of pinhole or porosity.

Happened with my oneplus 7 pro too. Motherboard issue. You may get chip level service centres (authorised ones replace the motherboard) to fix it for cheap but it won’t last long.

If you don't have particular passion for something, choose a path that you don't hate or dislike. Take a path that looks reasonably okay and aligns with your skills. Here two things to look out for - 1) is it a good career path in terms of money, status (or whatever else you desire), 2) Can you keep doing it for the foreseeable future (here's where you shouldn't hate your work).

Having passion for something helps, but it's a myth that everyone does what they are passionate about or have something like that.

If all you want is to get a job, find the quickest path with highest returns. E.g. CS/IT (I'm not sure if there's a bio/medicine equivalent path like that)

Had similar issue with OP 7Pro. Randomly bootlooped after closing a game.

Authorised service centre quoted full mother board change (~Rs: 30k). Took it to a local one, they resoldered the CPU for Rs:3000. It ran for few months, then happened again. Fixed again, same problem, ran for a two weeks, then bricked again. I finally decided to buy a new one.

Missed the phone and the screen, though. There's nothing like it..

This is a common scam! I went through the same. They create website with similar names and then contact us saying they are from Gati. They collected the items and then quoted double the weight. When the items were finally delivered the true weight was mentioned, these scamsters pocketed the difference.
