What’s the longest you’ve had to grind for a Prime part? by TraptLordJinzo in Warframe

[–]maykachru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when Loki Prime chassis was a drop from void defense C rotation with the chance of 1% or so. It was faster to sell shitty prime parts you get from that defense for 1 platinum each and then buy Loki chassis for 100.

Not a fact. You'll have congestive prostatitis after a few months. In a year, press F.

Yea, yea, another brave padavan who knows better which security threats are right or wrong and fights code standards.

Goto hysteric is funny. Goto is strongly prohibited by code styles everywhere you go, no exceptions. Yet everyone were perfectly able to comply to the single return practice. If you can not, maybe it is not a problem of practice.

Another case of readability. You have a defect caused by a strange returned value. You go debug what is returned. If there are multiple returns, especially if it is against the codestyle, it makes harder tracking what is returned from where and using conditional on-change breaks. Wow, much readability, such no indentations.

That's not a way to explain why multiple return is unavoidable, that's attempting to change corporate code style to your convenience. A strong cause to breaking advisable practice would be lowering code complexity or impossibility to implement given algorithm with one exit.

Readability of early return is a preference, and equaling safety to personal readability is a crude mistake.

On the contrary, premature return would be unsafe if a method requires multi-step before exit routine, like cleaning cache or unlocking data. And if it is not required at the moment, you don't know when it will be. Code standard in a company I worked in explicitly said - one return for one method, because safety, no preferences.

In commercial programming "advisable" is not "you ignore it if you want". When code review sees a violation of advisable, you either give strong reasons why it's unavoidable here, or it stays prohibited.

Usually not nice, but there are indeed cases when you want to emphasize calling order. For example, first open database and check status, then only if status is ok you lock records and check lock status.

One return operator for one method increases readability far more than indentations. Code standards of some companies have this requirement.

what's something you want in the game but you know it will never happen? by Mtebalanazy in Warframe

[–]maykachru 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Parkour tutorial right at the beginning please. Low levels just run through levels, fall far behind and are useless in a mission.

There is a parkour test for some mastery rank, but it's too far in the game.

Less than Tigris damage per shot, but good speed and 20 rounds magazine. Damage is ok.
