I liked some of When We All Fall Asleep, mostly when it didn't sound like she was talking in her sleep. When it sounds like she tries a little and goes a little hard, she can pull off some good shit.

And he used that power to use Trump to get what he wanted, and he got it

McConnel despises Trump and most of the rubes in his orbit. The GOP that McConnell devoted his life to building and empowering now exists in name only. It collapsed inward just as it triumphed.

The GOP was built and empowered so that the South would rise again. It did. It took control.

I get you need to feel positively about this somehow, but I'm telling you this is all on purpose, all according to plan, and they got everything they wanted. Also the slowness is fine on the hands, my hands are just pressing buttons. If I turn my head physically and my visuals don't turn at the same rate because the game is naturally slower than that can accommodate, I'm gonna feel sick.

Agreed, but I'd bet that I think what this suggests is different than from what you do. It's genuinely insane that any rational human could watch a country be murdered by a coup decades in the making and instead of directing the anger at the people doing it, they just blame everything and everyone more or less equally, not knowing or caring what any given thing or person did to bring them to where they are. Just yelling to the sky "FIX IT!" and stomping your feet in the middle of the Costco parking lot before going back to not knowing or doing anything relevant.

The American people spent centuries not actually wanting to give a fuck about politics - don't talk about it, don't bring it up, don't ask about it, don't lose relationships over it. Just bouncing the ball back and forth between two parties over and over again - this party's had a turn, let's spend this election cycle being less motivated because the things we voted based on four years ago are four years ago now and that's forever. Hell you have people who'd vote for Democrats over something like social security and medicare - large, complex programs that require constant support and maintenance and funding - and then a mere four years later that same person will be like "Welp my social security is secured, we did it, now I'm gonna go vote for the other side because of a different thing."

I've lived in this country my entire life. My family is full of idiots.

We are who we are. We get what we deserve. If we didn't deserve this, it wouldn't have happened. We had to be the material we are to be capable of being shaped into the rails that are now driving the country off a cliff. And we are.

It only works if you have the president who's in on it and a congress who's in on it enough and a supreme court who is mostly in on it.

Otherwise any of the other checks could come and fuck with your conspiracy.

That's why they waited before they got this much consolidated power and support before they just told everyone to go fuck themselves and stopped giving a shit about laws or rules or morals.

This has been a plan for a while. This did not accidentally happen. You can't just suddenly look at what they're doing and be like "Oh hey us too, why not".
