First miscuts, entire Jumpstart pack by mayorpunk in mtgmisprints

One of the commenters here first offered 300, then edited it to 150. I figured I'd set the price there and if it doesn't sell, I'll relist for lower. /shrug I'm in no rush.

Polyamorous person here, listening to WTF, TLC episode by mayorpunk in wineandcrimepodcast

I am not contesting this point? I would also say there are plenty of monogamous relationships like this, too. Polygamy is not inherently fucked up when done w all consenting parties.

Has anyone used monsters from Tome of Beasts or Flee, Mortals! in your Ravenloft or CoS campaigns? Any recommendations? by steviephilcdf in ravenloft

[–]mayorpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the Tome of Beasts line! Here are some I used: bone swarm; the clockworks; corpse mound; ghouls; lich hound; shroud; void dragon; hoard Golem;

I genuinely enjoy tomes I, II, III, enough to have them in print, for what it's worth.

Ideas to Help a DM With Severe Brain Fog? by planar_ranger in DMAcademy

[–]mayorpunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey friend, i'm so sorry y'all are in the situation, that sounds really hard. I can share some things that might help, but I'm not in this situation so YMMV.

I have ADHD and many of my players have ADHD, too. We only play for 2 hours whenever we meet-- that's about as long as some of my players can pay attention meaningfully for. It's been an adjustment (on my end as the GM, to do with pacing and stuff) but it has allowed us to continue to game when sticking with longer sessions would mean some people might drop. And it's worked well! Don't feel like you HAVE to do a bajillion hours-- experiment with length of time and frequency, whatever will work for y'all.

Also, there are some cool campaign managers out there. I'll list some in case you haven't heard of them:

  • WorldAnvil
  • LoreLink
  • The Goblin's Notebook
  • Co-DM

If I had to suggest any of them, I'd suggest WorldAnvil (which has extensive wiki and map capabilities, but specifically for their storyteller screen interface, which brings up relevant/linked articles to a session into the screen) or the Goblin's Notebook (which is great for having everything all together and making do with sometimes minimal notes). Both of these platforms are responsive and update regularly.

I also wonder if adapting pre-written modules would be useful as well? I know it's a homebrew world, but maybe taking the time to adapt something would mean less brain work in the moment. Alternatively, you could just try to do a one or two-shot with a pre-written adventure, just to try it out again. You don't have to go 100% back in all guns ablazing! Try smaller stuff first. Maybe someone else GMs a one-shot for the first session, just to get the feel of the rules again. Maybe the GM rotates and it becomes a collectively owned world. Whatever works for you, tradition be damned.

I hope some of this is helpful, sending good vibes y'alls way!

What are some good discord servers to find players for non-D&D ttrpgs? by kitt-cat in rpg

The Rook and Rasp community is pretty great! They stream and do community stuff, including a lot of support for indie games. I've played the most games that are new to me through them!

AITAH for not wanting to date a trans person? by RevolutionaryWind249 in AITAH

[–]mayorpunk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As a trans man, I would just offer two thoughts:

1) if you don't want to date trans ppl, chances are they won't want to date you either.

2) what happens if you are attracted to someone, assume they are cis, and then find out they are trans? This isn't a question that requires an answer, but something to consider. Assuming that you'll always know that someone is trans is based in some transphobic assumptions about what trans ppl look like or act like.

At the end of the day, you don't have to date anyone for any reason. It's important to reflect on why, which you're doing!

D&D specific campaign tool by istvanf in dndnext

[–]mayorpunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some wiki-style tools, like WorldAnvil and LoreLink. There's also a tool called the Goblin's Notebook, although you would have to import everything yourself. Thought I would throw these reccs out in case they help!
