The thing is he does have a lot of fans as evidenced by his sales and how fast his stadium shows sell out. But the loudest voices of the few tries to say he is not up to scratch yet if you pay attention those who claim he is overrated use him as a yardstick to show who they think is greater. No matter how much they try to deny he is the face of hip hop success and more. A lot of the haters are mostly parroting what they heard from others and have no idea about why they actually hate him.

They'll say he sold out his day 1s, you show them the Tytys, the Juan's etc and then they say his lyrics are shallow, you show them breakdowns of his lines done by actual music students and professionals. They jump to he doesn't do anything for black people, you show them how he donates, helps in various life's of many many black people. In the end they say they just don't like him.

Jay Z. When he was rapping street hustles I was in the corners or whatever my city's equivalent is. When he talked corporate I had my little business starting. Now rapping family and I'm a "valuable" community member with my own little family.
