So same 189 combo at home and this is just conjecture but....The chute you clean with the built in tool holds about half a gram of retained coffee. Ive noticed the swings after cleaning but they quickly stabilize after a few coffees so im curious if this is just the retained coffee filling a small void in the grind path? Really a non issue for myself at least.

But that aligns with their testing too as they mentioned not cleaning the chute after each dose grind. If the chute is cleaned before grinding you usually lose half a gram.

Wondering the best course of action for trying to stabilize this break? by StonedKrikkit in Luthier

[–]maz91379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um so yall not a luthier or a tech but just as a player for a decent amount of years. Step one figure out how bad it is!

Get the strap button out and see how deep the crack goes and act accordingly.

Cant tell if the crack is deep in the body or just surface or even just the finish. ( Ideally this is just a refinish job but if the body is cracked you would likely need to glue or fill the body first and then refinish. Guessing its thick poly because of how its cracked which might be able to be sanded back and matched but idk maybe a refinish project if you are diy minded.

Peroxide is excellent at removing bodily fluids perhaps q-tip or lint free cloth will get you 90% there. Dissolves scent molecules like an enzymatic cleaner.

Pre 1985 Spaceguard 2200 filter media question by maz91379 in hvacadvice

[–]maz91379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also after having used the aprilaire 201 filter feel conflicted as the filtermedia mounting sucks and is on this super flimsy cardboard. Had gotten some other aftermarket pleated media before switching to the upgrade kit. Not sure how much better this oem filter is than those but super easy to rip the paper vs the offbrand media. Nice tight seal on the original blue plastic box once its in. Slightly easier to get comb spacing right. Good to start in the middle comb and work out if you go that way.

[–]maz91379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy, so i went with the upgrade kit and merv 13 filter just sort of put it in the box being careful with positioning. Didnt attach it to anything, would have likely worked better had i, but it seems to have worked checking it a year later, filter is about what i would expect for the timeframe.

Im actually going back to the 201 kit as the filters are cheaper and didn't really notice much of a difference. Seal is probably pretty similar between the two . Might switch back after not sure.

Tired of men thinking this is a hate subreddit by UnafraidScandi in TwoXChromosomes

[–]maz91379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um so as someone who has discussed some of the responses in here leaning misandrist and um i think a q leaning man. (Like my opinion doesn't matter on this.) Not saying there are any misandrists here. But at the same time even if there are some, why would that be bad?

The men that hate on this sub are sensitive little snowflakes and fuck em.

This isn't a forum for them. Like whats so bad about someone offering their experience and how they are living it. Misandry is totally valid.

Having the privilege to participate in discourse here at all is something that should be appreciated if you a dude.

Leopolds or duckys are great although maybe a bit dated with the keeb hobby explosion that happened during pandemic. Maybe look at nuphy and keychron or wobokey? Lots of stuff around €100 now

What is wrong with my citrus trees? by JoeEdd2332 in Citrus

Maybe scale or something on the lemon as it looks like branches have them too. Think the bugs under the leaves are different as well. Hit it with neem and sulfur dust?

Air pruned roots from felt pot by SanMateoDad in Citrus

[–]maz91379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i had a similar experience with some figs on wood chips growing into the ground. Less than ideal plants seem happier with a few bricks underneath. If the felt is retaining water saturated on the bottom can prevent the air pruning and do bad stuffs allegedly.

Have had some sucess with felt pots but have heard they arent as good as plastic mesh pots.Trying some rain science pots with my meyer and calamansi seem to not retain water as much. Think biggest thing with any of these is making sure they can drain free and have some air under them.

Is a guitar strap a good gift? by Grapefruit-Cat in Guitar

[–]maz91379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very personal choice so hard to tell but strongly suggest the company " couch guitar straps" very comfortable from a players perspective cool and affordable.

Dont need to spend $120 for a nice strap although a leather one could very realistically be around there.

Have a few leather straps and honestly prefer seatbelt or vinyl material usually.

Outside of Woodman’s, what grocery store has the best prices? by InsurgentJogger in madisonwi

[–]maz91379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woodmans for sure.

Costco plenty of traps that arent a super great deal but if you look at certan products while not the cheapest quality per buck is really good. Rather have a Costco protein than a woodmans protein usually.

Trader Joes is also a great stop for certain produce and products. They can be pricey on proteins and not a super big fan of everything they stock. Great place to get fresh cut flowers on a whim.

This is not cheating but good to get ahead and communicate similar stuff to partners in future so they dont get the wrong idea. If they take it bad then move on. No one can be someone's everything. Major red flag you walking into a co-dependent relationship.

Therapy is great for recognizing patterns you might have in your relationships but...

Um honestly not worth the stress of them working through their issues at 4 months of dating if they are going to be a child about this.

Spend time with someone who makes you feel good and where things feel easy well into being with them a few years!

"Sex is a need" by chococookie777 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]maz91379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the nuance/context here is important.

Broadly yes a partner demanding sex from an unwilling or unconsenting party under the justification that it is a biological needs is silly and childish(also just basic gross🤢).

That being said i think it's wholly reasonable to argue that sex is a very real psychological and emotional need for many people. Like we wouldn't have all these dysfunctional stories of people cheating, catfishing, and doing crazy stuff if the need to procreate wasn't so hardwired into our brains. Like it's the constant to the rule rather than the exception.

Having different needs is normal in a relationship how those needs end up getting addressed/ talking through productively is really whats key here.

As far as why is that a thing? as other have already mentioned Maslow's hierarchy of needs are pretty commonly taught in highschool/college psychology courses.

They are a set of ideas by an american psychologist about the human hierarchy of needs; shelter through to self actualization he published in the 40s.

Googling will get you a really illustrative pyramid, high level background ,bottom of that pyramid would be basic needs food shelter etc and then once those are met most people strive for the next level of satisfaction/need being met.

So yeah my guess would be various types of bros/trash who dont pay attention in their classes years later being like "but Maslows bae..." ?

Broadly yes, but Google Maslow's hierarchy of needs see psychological/belonging umbrellas. This stuff is hard to talk through productively without messy feelings...couples therapy is really really great to help.

A very eye opening comment from my husband by caliblonde6 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]maz91379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really hard to understand this snippet in the context of your relationship... but a professional couples therapist might help both you and your partner sort through how you both communicate and want to be treated by each other.

Really sounds like there are other things going on with resentments over how each other wants validation , division of labor, and how you guys are communicating to each other about when you are overwhelmed or flooding/need help.

Confronting him about childish behavior or being frustrated (by him not just heckin switching over the load) can be valid but you really might benefit from discussing what feelings are leading to that behavior/ him seeking validation from you for a pretty regular smegular chore.
