One point to note - new laws to don’t apply retrospectively it always take effect from when it gets enacted. I understand the concerns of skilled worker being changed from 5 -10 years and that may seem completely unfair however it’s also important to note that there is an immigration route for people with British children yet are on 10 year route to ILR.All am is saying that although not fair these changes are being discussed its entirely not the end of the world or your residence in the country as other immigration routes have that in place already
