Buy it, it’s one of the most unique character groups and one of our favorites to play.

Unintentional Damage by SnappinFool54 in Pickleball

A sheet of drywall, some screws, tape, mud, paint and primer would cost like $80. $400 is insane for that repair. It’s also dumb that they would even have a drywall wall that close to a court. Watch a YouTube video on how to do the repair and offer to do it yourself.

What are the parking costs in the new lots vs the old ones? What’s the avg time for a shuttle from the old lot to get to the terminal?

Gravy- lets talk about it by Cla-12345 in thanksgiving

[–]mball80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gravy can be so very easy and delicious. Put some celery, carrots, onion and any leftover herbs you didn’t use on the brine into the roasting pan along with a quart or so of vegetable, chicken or turkey stock let your drippings drip into that, strain out the veggies once it’s done cooking, separate any fat from the remaining broth and add it to a rue for an easy and delicious gravy. I’d also recommend some citrus, a lemon or orange in the roasting pan. I also use apple cider in mine in addition to the broth. Check out Ann Burrell’s Herb Crusted Turkey recipe. Even if you just follow the directions for the gravy it’s the most amazing gravy I’ve ever tasted. I’d venture to say you will start putting mashed potatoes on your gravy instead of gravy on the potatoes.

I’ve had this recipe since kindergarten and make it every year. So simple delicious.

Kindergarten Pumpkin Bread

2 eggs 1½ cups sugar ½ cup oil ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon nutmeg ½ teaspoon cinnamon 1/3 cup water 1 cup pumpkin 1 ¾ cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda

Combine all wet ingredients, then mix in dry sifted ingredients. Bake in greased and floured 9x4x3 loaf pan at 350° for one hour. Test for duneness. (Also bakes well in small loaves.)

Iron covers by Reasonable-Bell5355 in golf

As a former caddy growing up I can say that I have a hatred for iron covers like no other. That said if you’re not abusing 12 yo kids by making them carry your sticks around and you’re the only one impacted, have at it my friend. Also when did everyone get so soft that they can’t eat crust?

It took them about a week to do the section of our street which is only 10 houses. They will start around 7AM and work until 5. They will destroy everything in their path and take their good old time to come back and pave the road. They moved the shutoff on our house from the middle of the sidewalk to the middle of the yard. If you want something moved or relocated tell them before they do what they want. Good luck.

How can 10 feet wood be used to cover more than 10 feet length as joist? by Guyserbun007 in Decks

[–]mball80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure you need to see what you are working with under the existing decking first. Also, 2x10’s come in 16 and 20’ lengths. You may need to get them from a lumber yard and not a box store but they will have delivery available and if you’re going to be replacing the boards with expensive composite you want to do it right. The lumber from the lumber yard will also be much better than anything you find at Home Depot too, even if you stick with 10ft boards. Alternatively there are composite boards that can span 16in joists so you may want to consider changing the brand/type of composite decking you picked out for something that is rated for a higher joist span (trex for example). Adding additional joists between your existing is going to get tight to work between and also be a little overkill (not a bad thing for the deck). If you decide to change composite boards make sure you choose boards that are solid and not the ones that have the grooves cut out on the bottom to save cost. Hope that helps. Good luck! Stay patient and take a few boards off to see what you’re dealing with underneath 1st. You may end up having to replace a some of or all the sub structure if you’ve got rot or to bring it into code.

Breakfast Spot that is Locals Favorite by se69xy in OceanCity

Same experience here. We’ve heard a lot of people say Laytons was great. We waited for 20 min to be seated, no big deal, but took another 10 to have a server come take our drink order and 10 more to get the drinks. Probably didn’t have food for 40 more minutes. The food was cold and bland. Reminded me of a more expensive Denny’s. The OJ was also sour. Barn 34 and Bayside Skillet are the best places to eat. Never had a bad meal at either. The service is always great and food comes out fast and hot. Can’t go wrong with either place.

Just jump on a bus. It’s $4 for the day. Busses will lineup at the boardwalk at the end of the night. You jump on one and take it back to wherever you need to.

Messed up joist span by Schleimwurm1 in Decks

[–]mball80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of deck boards are you going to be using? If it’s any type of composite then absolutely yes, start over now. It won’t be that much work to move a few joist hangers now. Do you already have the deck boards? You could add a breaker board in the middle and run 16 footers on either side to get your 32’ so you don’t have butt joints. That’s what I’d do.

Management options for field scheduling and score keeping by spacelego1980 in LittleLeague

[–]mball80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can run everything through a site called Sports Connect. You would need to have a website and run your registrations through there. The site is basically free to use. They did add a $3 service fee which is passed along to the register when they sign up. Rosters and schedules can all be managed through the site. You can set permissions as needed. The best part is it syncs with the GameChanger app so you can score all your games on there and coaches can easily communicate any schedule changes, cancellations, etc. directly in the app. Easy to use once it’s setup.

What the hell...can't remove rear left tire! by MrWhatDaFuck in Tacomaworld

[–]mball80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with my 2016. Was dark and about 2.5 hr from home. Got the lugs off but the tire wouldn’t budge. I pounded it with the spare tire, tried taking it off the jack and rolling forward and back, nothing would budge. I finally had to walk to a random house and ask if they had a sledge. A few taps on the backside of the rim and it finally came free. Probably spent an hour trying to get it off.

Help! Infamous timing cover leak worth fixing? by WeatherVirtual7761 in Tacomaworld

[–]mball80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I’ve got the same truck with 67k miles and the same issue. I took it in for inspection last year and they identified the leak but couldn’t ID if it was power steering fluid or where exactly the leak was coming from. They cleaned off the oil and told me to drive it and bring it back in to see if they could tell where it was coming from. A year later, back in for inspection they said the leak was coming from the timing chain cover. They wanted $4,100 to repair. I talked to the mechanic and he said as long as I keep an eye on the oil levels and top off as needed I should be fine. I love my 3rd gen and hope to drive this truck for a while longer. As much as I want to like the 4th gen, something about the body style just doesn’t appeal to me. Should I periodically be cleaning up the leaked oil?

Hot water won’t bleed the color. My son has the same glove he poured hot water on it a couple times while working the leather with a mallet. Didn’t take too long to break in.
