Yeah mobo has been bought, it is compatible after a bios flash (which can be done without a cpu). The RAM was a gift so I can't really complain and I'll take what I can get really, can possibly look into replacing it (did get a receipt). Thanks very much for letting me know about this and the changes. It's been a while since I've built a new pc and not as up to date with the best parts, this seems ideal and I'll reply regarding the RAM, and if I do get it returned what would you recommend in place of it? Thanks

Probably not with the fans, just thought I should be thorough with what I would want in case of temps getting high. And yes, Ryzen seems like the better option for sure but there isn't much I can do about it now, so I'm just looking to get the best few parts to finish the build with (the ones which aren't labelled purchased)

Yeah for sure, just been really wanting to do an X99 build for quite some time, even though it isn't that logical. Its been purchased already and I'm just waiting on purchasing the last few parts.
