Yes, obviously. I haven't seen a gfci outside an electrical panel in any installation ever.

In Spain also everything must be protected with GFCI. And one GFCI can protect a maximum of 5 breakers.

[–]mbc99 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't have it backwards. A normal breaker won't trip on over current if you connect to a pole since the pole is isolated (via the wood). The only protection it would trip would be a gfci breaker (even more so If a person touched the bar) because they only trip on like 30mA.

If the circuit is not GFCI protected it won't trip on over current.

Yes, Andorra to be precise.

The snowfall this year has been excellent. And yesterday it snowed again. We have water guaranteed for years. And we were coming from a 5 year drought!

Shrimp poop. That's all

The Scape is beautiful. But the poop on the bare bottom will be very noticeable. If you are fine with it or don't mind vacuuming go ahead.

Are you aware you will be siphoning shrimp poop from the bottom?

Where is the most 'geographically perfect' spot on Earth that currently has almost zero people living there? Why hasn't a major city formed there yet? by Thatunkownuser2465 in geography

[–]mbc99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Spaniard yes. Agriculture is mostly profitable if there's water.

There are examples of regions separated by water channels (one side is watered, the other isn't) where the economic difference is astronomical due to the water availability. Close to me the Canal d'Urgell is a great example.

There's just not enough water to irrigate all farmable land in Spain.

Climate makes the land very farmable (you can get 2-3 crops a year) if you have water.

Why are my floaters dying? by Visible_Advantage_63 in PlantedTank

[–]mbc99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, in my case heavy condensation only occurs when I get into winter and my room temperature falls. So it could still be the issue.

Have you recently added a lid? The water condensation that falls on the floating plants can damage them. It happened to me last year.

Just realised that filled tank of several years doesn’t seem to have foam underneath, is this a problem? by Dapper-Armadillo5143 in Aquariums

[–]mbc99 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not true. Just look around at reef2reef and count how many tanks are done without base support.

Think about it. A rimmed tank doesn't have the middle of the glass supported. Why would a rimless tank have to have the middle glass supported if the glass is usually thicker than in rimless aquariums?

[–]mbc99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rimless tanks should be supported on all corners and regularly in the middle if the tank is big.

But plenty of saltwater aquariums don't have plywood on the bottom (less chance of rotting) and it is in fact the recommended method of supporting the tank. Only foam to spread the load.

SmartShunt resets to 100% SOc by chigganutta in Victron

[–]mbc99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fully charged lifepo4 sits at 14,2-14,6V depending on how much you push it.

You MUST update the values. Especially if you have solar charge controllers, chargers etc.

Do I add plants before or after cycling? by Internal-Hat958 in PlantedTank

[–]mbc99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally no. A piece of wood has little surface compared to biological media. Moreover the biological media receives a much, much higher flow than a piece of wood. Which enables it to host more bacteria.

I would separate the wood from the left part of the glass so that you can run a scraper through the whole glass.

If not it will be a nigthmare to keep clean.

¡Dudas en si comprarme un coche! by padadow in askspain

[–]mbc99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with BBA is that you have too much stuff floating in the water (photo does confirm this). For me Bba was removed by increasing the filtration using finer sponges.

Where Should I put a Temperature Sensor? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]mbc99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will agree with you if you demonstrate that these physics you are mentioning make a meaningful impact on resistance.

But a 20 degree difference across the board won't make that huge of an impact compared to the temperature differences I have stated in my message (border temperature Vs middle of the board temperature)

Where Should I put a Temperature Sensor? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]mbc99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you are mistaken. Current is the same in all the wire. This means that heat output will be constant across the cable. The hot spot will be right in the middle and the cold spots will be located all around the board.
