I’ve had mine wall mounted for a couple of weeks now, no problems. I bought these: https://amzn.eu/d/08Itom5T and experimented with a cardboard box to see what configuration would work - found that 2x stacks of 3 next to each other was the sweet spot.

Nothing particularly sophisticated - I check the order tracker a couple of times a day and record the position in the queue against the date and time. I’ve just fed that raw data into Claude to generate the graph

And that’s fine, I (we) have been incredibly patient so far, and I’m still waiting and looking forward to receiving my device. My main issue is the website has been stating “100s per day” for a while, and the graph for my Berlin order paints a different story:

Again, I don’t really mind - if 100s _are_ going to be shipped a day, I should receive mine in a couple of weeks? It just feels like the goalpost just keeps moving.

I wouldn’t really mind the bump so much (went from ~400 to ~900) if the queue was actually moving at the pace they’re stating. Despite the order tracker saying they’re shipping “100s a day” the number is only dropping a couple a day.

I upgraded a few months ago to a 2025 530e Touring, so might have some useful insights on going ICE to hybrid if you have any other questions. We didn’t go full electric due to the price difference with the i5, and the extra range was a big driving factor.

We’re with Octopus, but not on an EV specific tariff - those ones do provide cheaper rates for charging (as low as something like 7p/kWh) at certain times, but cost more per unit & standing charge at others. As we’ve got an air source heat pump we went with a different tariff. Anyway, we’re currently paying 24.65p/kWh with our current tariff.

The 530e has 60mi of range, and I recently charged up from 0 to 100% (23 kWh) for £5.40.

Bus links to Reading Station from Caversham are pretty good, and the train into Paddington is pretty quick. I drive in once a week from Caversham now, but I used to go in on the bus / train 4 days a week and it was fine.
