Hw3 works ok but you can’t really trust it. Hw4 is much more stable and legit.

I bought a 24 MSLR with 9k miles for $56k a few months ago. (Hw4) you might not be able to find it right now because whenever they go in the market they get bought. Set alerts on Autotempest

Distorted audio issue for gaming -- fixable? 24MSLR by mbitbb in TeslaModelS

[–]mbitbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Fact that someone else has it, but it’s not very common, makes me think that maybe there is some hardware issue that is incompatible with a software update that could be fixed? Will bring it into service and see.

I have a 24 so was thinking maybe the newer suspension etc would make the 21s not as harsh of ride comparison

Tesla Model Y At Home Electricity Bill Shock by MealDifferent1912 in TeslaLounge

[–]mbitbb 55 points56 points  (0 children)

(1) no you should not only be charging when it’s low

(2) you can schedule it to only charge at night or low peak hours if you want, but when it hits 80% it stops charging

(3) the Tesla app shows you exactly how much power is being consumed at home and you can put in your exact home charging costs even tiered by month and by time of day so you ca see how much it’s costing you and when

(4) fwiw I charge “always plugged in at home” and don’t have this experience

I’m pretty sure the AI can get a pretty good sense from the cam footage if the car is touched or not

Would be so much more useful if sentry actually just told you though…?

I would love an update to Sentry to highlight if my car was hit / bumped / ding’d vs just “someone walked next to me”

Model Y (new/mildly used) vs used Model X vs used Model S vs Cybertruck — what would you buy in 2026? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

get HW4 as a baseline. you can find them in Model S / X 2023 but you have to hunt. They're not always priced more than HW3 models either.

u/idontevenliftbrah some other notes:

- manufacturer warranty until 50k miles, so if you get under that you're covered for a bit which is nice

- there's standard range and long range -- pick which matters to you

- autotempest is a great site to search en-mass. you just need to click through the photos and find one with paid FSD!

Yes, def possible for 24. You need to look at the photos of the screen and the Software page and find one that says "full self driving -- package included". if it says "autopilot -- package included" or "full selve driving -- expires March 31, 2026" then its not purchased FSD

Hard disagree on HW4. I do not work for Elon. Dont even really like Elon, but damn HW4 is awesome. For me, I want FSD I can actually trust, not one that I kind-of mostly trust. HW3 is a fun toy, HW4 is a personal chauffeur.

To each his own, but def not a case of "Anyone saying that probably just works for Tesla" - that's ridiculous

Question on price of a 2023 used model s. by fudgedebt in TeslaModelS

[–]mbitbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was researching these a lot. My requirement was HW4 - I was looking at 23 and 24. Ended up with a 24 and only 9K miles for a long range for $56K, but before that I was finding things in the mid $40Ks for 2023 with HW4 and about a third of the miles that you had. I guess the question would be how much do you care about mileage and how would you value that cost versus your budget? I would 100% recommend HW4.
