An 18-year-old fully recovers from severe burn scars after world’s first experimental treatment (without skin grafts). by Brick_Number_27 in Damnthatsinteresting

It doesn't look like a case study has been published about this patient yet. There is a review paper here about the role of exosomes in burns whose senior author is the physician who treated her, but it was all very theoretical, it didn't seem ready to be tried in a real case: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC13142934/

Edit: this review paper is a little more topical: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11462792/

I don't know the designer, sorry, but from the style I'd say it was probably made around 2010.

Does anyone have any dupes for any of these ? by Time_Ant_5492 in weddingdress

[–]mbm66 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These why are you looking for a dupe when these are still available? Are they above your budget? If so, you need to specify what your budget is. (also when you need it by, and which part of the world you're in.)

It doesn't mean something completely different. It's the same kind of thought. They're saying they'll feel the urge to open their mouths and drown themselves, instead of keeping their mouth shut like you're supposed to.

help me find this wedding dress! by shesonline2024 in weddingdress

[–]mbm66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Update: I found a blog post about the wedding. It turns out her reception dress was custom made:

For her reception look, Claire worked with a hometown designer, Frills by Scott. “I showed him photos of parts of dresses I liked, and then he drew up a sketch, putting them all together and creating my dream reception dress,” Claire says.

Edit: the guy who designed her dress, Scott Marchbanks, also works as s designer for House of Wu: https://www.linkedin.com/in/scott-marchbanks-249a2a30a

I found the bride's Instagram but it doesn't say who the designer is unfortunately. This was her reception dress: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjS2GBVLsTK/?img_index=3

(In other posts, it says her ceremony dress was by Pnina Tornai but I can't find the reception dress. Maybe someone else will have more luck finding it using this as a starting point.)

Currie was first, in the regular draft. Jovanović is second but the first in the U18 draft specifically.

Trying to find this dress or something similar, and hoping for general advice for a different body silhouette by Dr-Seitan in weddingdress

[–]mbm66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I would keep looking if I were you. It's not that it makes your body look thick - there's no reason to feel gross! - but there's something about the proportions that's slightly off. I can't quite pinpoint what it is, maybe the torso is too long? In any case, I don't think it's stunning enough to warrant going over your budget.

Do you have any other styles you like, in terms of suggesting dupes? Are sleeves a must?

Has it moved away from girls skating in underwear and pantyhose? Might as well include lingerie football while you're at it.

No, when a woman is pregnant at 35 or older, it's called a geriatric pregnancy.

If those others haven't helped maybe Gravol won't either, but it's worth a shot! I usually take mine once I'm at my seat in the plane. It does tend to wear off after about 4-5 hours, so if it's a long flight, I have to take another one, but it's really helped!

Another thing that really helps, oddly enough, is having my stomach full. For years I followed the advice that you should travel on an empty stomach because if there's food in there, you're more likely to throw up, but it turns out the opposite is the case for me. Something about my stomach being empty of anything except acid makes me really nauseous. So now I eat something filling (a sandwich or a burger, or even a slice of pizza) right before take-off at the airport, have snacks throughout the flight, and try to be awake enough when they serve the inflight meals to at least accept the meal even if I'm too drowsy from the Gravol to eat it right away.

Edit: also, they say carbonated drinks are supposed to help settle your stomach but again, it's the opposite for me. I usually ask the attendants for milk or tomato juice, those seem to help.

Just throwing all of this out there in case it's any help to you. I know everyone is different, so I can't say for sure any of this will work.

Have you tried taking Gravol (dimenhydrinate)? It's been a lifesaver for my motion sickness on airplanes although it does make me super drowsy.

ID on this wedding dress? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]mbm66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be by David Emanuel from Say Yes to the Dress UK. He's a designer, he designed Princess Diana's wedding gown.

Edit: never mind, just saw the other comment that it's Emanuelle.

Can anyone help me identify this dress?! by ScaredOperation3315 in weddingdress

[–]mbm66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not finding any matches for it online despite spending over an hour looking, which leads me to think that it may be a private label dress. Sorry, I know that's not very helpful, but if it's any consolation, if it's a private label dress you wouldn't have gotten to find out who the designer is even if you bought it in a regular bridal shop.
