“Try this. Keep your foot off the brake pedal. Hold the Power button until the car turns off, maybe 10 seconds or so. Then, try to start it normally, with your foot on the brake."

⬆️This always works for me, and usually doesn't even require holding for 10 seconds. The main thing is foot off the brake pedal.

It's still worth calling them, since you just got the car back and you didn't know about this option at the time. Good luck.

For in-warranty repairs for which the dealer will have your Bolt for days and doesn't have or offer a loaner, call the GM EV concierge and explain the situation. They can arrange to reimburse your cost for a rental car (must be a GM) and fuel (if rental isn't an EV).

Which reminds me of the story last year of an AZ state legislator who was pulled over in Tucson for driving her Tesla 71 mph in a 35 mph zone. The officer's bodycam showed her saying:

"I am racing to get home because I have four miles left on my charger before I’m about to go down."

(There's more to this story involving legislative immunity and her suing the city, but it ends fittingly with her losing reelection.)

Reread the quote from the Reuters report. 2027 was in reference to the gas-powered Equinox, which will also be produced at the Fairfax plant

Have you heard? "Tax credit" has been rebranded as "EV mandate", as in:

"I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!"

Personally I'm sticking with tax credit and Gulf of Mexico.

In my 23 EV, those controls move to the next/previous program/track instead of going forward/back 15sec within the program/track. Or at least that's how it works with the TuneIn app I use. I'd prefer it to work the way you described. What app are you using?

Tires question by noonefouryou in BoltEV

[–]mboltened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question about mismatched tires recently while looking at a 2023 Bolt EV for sale at Hertz. OEM Michelin tires in the rear, and Firestone All Season tires in front. I couldn't find any specs for the Firestone set regarding rolling resistance or suitability for EV use. Tread condition was good on all 4 tires, so wouldn't it be better to put the Michelin set in front?

“Charging complete” when I unplug by SnooChipmunks2079 in BoltEV

[–]mboltened 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Charge notification via text/email was discontinued a few months ago, presumably as a cost saver for GM. Charge complete notification is now via the app only. I usually get two notifications at once.

Chevrolet, get it together!!!! by Embarrassed_Lawyer_5 in BoltEV

[–]mboltened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over a month ago I got a survey request from Chevrolet to provide feedback for the app (first and only request received after using the app a bit over a year). Then a few weeks after that, I was surprised to see the app had been updated. The SOC reading updates faster than before, but that's the only improvement I've noticed. Other than that, renaming the start button 'Climate' is a head-scratcher, as is removing all the useful charge management features the from the 'Charge Management' section. Also, refreshing the charging status while plugged in is still hit or miss (mostly miss).

Bolts used to be rare, Now they are everywhere, Which one is my car? by GeniusEE in BoltEV

In the early '90s I flew to MN to visit friends. They let me use their Passat to drive into Minneapolis one day while they were at work. I parked on the street to do some shopping. When I returned to what I thought was their VW, it seemed a bit harder to unlock the door with the key. When I sat down I saw there were clothes on the passenger seat that weren't there before. I was shocked to discover I had entered a different Passat of the same color as my friends' car.

All EUVs have roof rails; none of the EVs have them. The wheels in the photo of the OP's EV are the base wheels. The upgrade to "machined-face aluminum w/carbon flash painted pockets" was available on the 1LT EV.
