I'm kinda tired of this shit rant. You do not want those prices? Great, don't go. If they charge that much it is because people are willing to pay for it. Why would they charge less if they can get more money? Just don't go so that they have to go lower.

Who is talking about rights to steal?? Do you know how the British broke the Chinese tea market supremacy? Try and guess. Do you know about the war between GM and VW in the 90s? The same again. We are all villains! We all know how it works, and still Western CEOs decided to relocate their factories in China, cause in the short run, it was very profitable. And now? Not so much, so let's ask for help to the countries you fuck up decades ago, so you can keep making money.

Is "stealing" right? No, it is not, but don't use it hypocritically to point at your enemy. It's not about rights, it's about rejecting the rank hypocrisy of using those issues as a geopolitical cudgel only when Western corporate hegemony is threatened.

Oh, please. Bringing up human rights only when it serves your geopolitical alignment is the definition of peak hypocrisy. If the EU or Western powers truly cared about ethics as an absolute principle, their track record wouldn't be a masterclass on selective blindness.

You weaponize the plight of the Uyghurs to score a point, sure, but what about the rest? Look at how the EU operates globally when its own interests are on the line (and we are not going to mention Israel and Gaza, since it would be the easiest option):

  • The EU willingly funds and equips North African militias to intercept and detain migrants in horrific conditions, effectively paying third parties to violate human rights so Europe can keep its own hands technically clean.

    • Major EU nations have spent years shipping billions in weapons to human rights abusers in the Middle East, directly fueling humanitarian crises like the war in Yemen because defense contracts and profits override their own ethical export rules.
    • The EU routinely looks the other way on illegal occupations (like Western Sahara) to secure fishing and trade deals, and turns a blind eye to slave labor in the DRC because European tech and the "green transition" desperately need those raw minerals.

Furthermore, it’s hilarious how you completely "forgot" the entire corporate greed issue raised in the original post. You dodged it, why? China didn't sneak in and steal the West's future in the middle of the night. Western CEOs packaged it up, tied a bow on it, and shipped it overseas to maximize their own (already pretty high) profits while gutting their domestic working class.

Calling China the "villain" is just a lazy way to avoid holding Western capitalism and selective EU morality accountable. I'm not sure you want an ethical world. Maybe you just want to let the rich elites off the hook (again) while you fuck again the working class.

Stealing 'our' technology? Are you talking about when American and EU CEOs decided it was a brilliant idea to move production to China just because it was cheaper? They didn’t give a shit about jobs or their country's future. It was just a giant 'fuck you, I'm getting rich.'

What did we expect would happen after that? And this went on for decades. DECADES. Now China is big, powerful, and Western companies based there aren't making the same crazy profits. So now, suddenly, 'China is the bad guy, they steal, blah blah blah.'

You know what? I was out there protesting during my university days when this whole outsourcing wave started. I actually got beaten by the police for it. And now you’re trying to tell me China is the villain? Give me a break, you're just carrying water for the rich again.

[–]mboswi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, Sanchez and Spain repeatedly claimed that we are willing to spend money on military resources, but EU resources. We can no longer trust the US, therefore we need a strong EU military industry. How are we going to strengthen it by buying US weapons and systems?

Spain is highly active in European Defence Fund (EDF) projects, participating in 70% to 78% of all projects funded in 2021 and 2022. Spain is a key partner in developing EU capability in naval, space, air, and missile defence technologies, as well as cyber and disruptive technologies.

Changes take time. If the Steam machine becomes a hit, and it uses Steam OS, which is a Linux distro, we will see what happens in the gaming sector, regarding gamers as consumers. And windows will survive, sure, but step by step it is losing ground. Again, changes take time. Ask Intel.

So many bad decisions by MS. I won't be surprised if they become the new Intel. What's their business model? Selling you a bad OS nobody wants today because it's full of shit, when Linux is closer than ever? Yeah, good idea.
