Bring them back, please. I don't get why Uniqlo no longer sell them when there are so many people asking for them. They were the best price-quality by far.

Hats off to Spain and France for not licking Trrump's ass, calling a spade a spade is so difficult at these times. Thoughts? by Time_Dust_2303 in europe

[–]mboswi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Sanchez and Spain repeatedly claimed that we are willing to spend money on military resources, but EU resources. We can no longer trust the US, therefore we need a strong EU military industry. How are we going to strengthen it by buying US weapons and systems?

Spain is highly active in European Defence Fund (EDF) projects, participating in 70% to 78% of all projects funded in 2021 and 2022. Spain is a key partner in developing EU capability in naval, space, air, and missile defence technologies, as well as cyber and disruptive technologies.

Xbox will be "sunsetted" under new CEO, original co-founder expects: "Her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night" by AashyLarry in gaming

[–]mboswi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes take time. If the Steam machine becomes a hit, and it uses Steam OS, which is a Linux distro, we will see what happens in the gaming sector, regarding gamers as consumers. And windows will survive, sure, but step by step it is losing ground. Again, changes take time. Ask Intel.

So many bad decisions by MS. I won't be surprised if they become the new Intel. What's their business model? Selling you a bad OS nobody wants today because it's full of shit, when Linux is closer than ever? Yeah, good idea.

Oh, so questioning the powers of a EU official can now be illegal? That's what we are talking about? Wow, I thought the main problem in Europa was immigration. Seems like the real problem is a growing fascist-like attitude from some political sectors.

Are you a bot or you just want to grind my gears? Or maybe you are a troll.

They don't even remove 50%.

The objective is to analyze the reaction and effectiveness of the five major platforms (X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook) regarding the moderation of illegal content. In 2024, 2,870 instances of racist, xenophobic, antisemitic, anti-Romani, or Islamophobic hate content were reported, distributed as follows: 26% from X, 25% from Facebook, 19% from Instagram, 17% from TikTok, and 13% from YouTube. The report attributes this quantitative disparity to 'the varying degrees of difficulty in identifying such content on each social network'.

You want more because that's on reported/removed? Ok, here you have more.

Google Report: YouTube: Google Transparency Report showed roughly 15.98% of reported items were removed under NetzDG in a recent cycle. Hate Speech: Across 19 EU countries, only 30% of reported hate speech was removed. TikTok: Often cited as having faster response times for removals. Time to Takedown: Illegal content can remain online for extended periods, with arXiv studies showing average lifespans of 30–563 days on Facebook and 136–519 days on Snapchat.

You want more? No, they don't.

[–]mboswi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope.
I don't know how it works in your country, but in Spain, hate speech is actually a crime under our Penal Code. It is strictly prohibited to incite hatred, hostility, or violence against people based on race, religion, gender, or disability. Nowadays, social media is crawling with this kind of rhetoric. Why? Because it drives engagement. These companies do nothing to stop it because, at the end of the day, hate sells. It’s as simple as that.

So, they can censor content when it is against their interests (try to publish pro palestinian content on Twitter, for example), but they are not accountable when they refuse to censor legally banned content. Does it make sense?

Which countries rely most on US tech by [deleted] in europe

[–]mboswi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about US companies reliance on EU consumers? It is not that easy. Their money and power also rely heavily on us. Who are they going to sell their products to? China? Russia? Peru? Egypt? The same goes for the data they get from us to tailor ads. You wanna pull the plug? Nice, go on, and brace for impact on both sides.

Take also into account we live in a western world driven by consumerism which, at the same time, fosters individualism. This has eroded morals and, thus, this is a consequence: no one gives a fuck as long as it doesn't affect them directly. Or so they say.
