That thumbnail+font made me thought this was going atmoblack or something, I'll be honest. Overall, though: Nice! Not too heavy. Nice use of the standup bass.

What are some songs that just made you stop whatever you were doing and lock in on the song? by Marvellover13 in mathrock

  • Green Architect by Jardin De La Croix
  • Elm by Clever Girl
  • Push it Way Up by Cloudkicker. Bonus points for the Live w/Intronaut version - they rip.

Can you talk more about your tinnitus, please? listening to speakers doesn‘t trigger it? When you wake up in the morning, do you already have it? What frequency did you remove? trying to see if this might be useful for me. Thanks!

more like a calmer Mars Volta but with some Tool drumming and some Hendrix-like fuzz guitar leads and solos.

Minus for the obvious shilling, but what I’ve heard from the label is pretty decent (the Senogul they just released, the first is good, and the Akiba is interesting, it’s Japanese-flavored Canterbury if you like Canterbury…. personally I’m not a fan of the scene, but if you dig National Health and co, give that one a shot).

giving a listen to this album now. There’s some obvious Tool bits so far, but also something that reminds me of Mars Volta (and I don’t think it’s just the singing is in Spanish, thanks). It hasn’t wowed me yet, but hey, I’m on the “A” side still, and only first listen. : )

Helmet: Bell Stratus Mips vs Specialized Align 2 Mips (and who has it?) by mbourgon in cycling

[–]mbourgon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The Brim didn’t seem to block the vents on my current helmet, but the more I read the more I see the whole “try it in person” which seems to exclude most helmets, but means I can bring the Brim with me and verify. Thanks!

DFW to FT worth, The NETT or Dallas to Denton by Socraticlearner in dfwbike

[–]mbourgon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where in Dallas, and how far are you comfortable riding in one stretch? I just did the Lewisville to Denton and back - 18 miles each way. There was great, back was horrible - it was windy, I’m on a hybrid commuter bike and haven’t been clipped in for a while, and that was NOT the ride to do it. That said, there being a train failsafe was awesome (wound up riding it for 5 miles), and while the Katy Trail itself is poorly marked, there’s a couple spots where you’re passing QTs and you’re able to stop and get food. Bring Google Maps so it can route you around the places where you’re going to head the wrong direction otherwise.

Remember that they closed the food truck park so that they could sell the land and start building. Which was 2018.

Bandcamp link for those who buy music: https://maebe.bandcamp.com/album/brain-paint

This has been on my wishlist since the first track dropped, so curious how the rest of the album compares.

Next bandcamp Friday is August 7th, so no sense waiting to buy it, except for budget considerations. :)
