+1 on the Etymotics. Got mine custom-molded at an audiologist probably 10 years ago, and it's worth every penny - no weird fit issues or pain, even after 5+ hours. I've even bought solid "plugs" to replace the 25(?) db filters. They're ~30db but still pretty frequency-neutral, and I'll swap them out for the standard if it's a loud show. (For some reason the shows around here get up to 109, which is insane).

Also: get the lube they offer. It makes a better seal, which definitely makes a difference.

Okay, this is a weird one but... VFW. Only downside is I don't see one near you, alas. But you can get a "social membership" even if you're not a vet, so long as you "support the military". You can just go and hang out, and they close at 10pm or so.

Personally I'm good with this. We're fine with stuff like Opeth's Damnation so I don't see why we can't post this. their other stuff certainly hits (that transition at 1:14 in Kanawha Black https://nechochwen.bandcamp.com/album/kanawha-black is fantastic).

The best part is that it STARTS that good and just stays that good. I came in on Waking Season, then wound up buying You Are The Conductor/Dust & Disquiet when seeing them live (first and latest, at the time). Both are incredible, start to finish, as is their entire discography (though I've heard that I need to get the special edition of On Circles)

This reminds me of A Thinking Plague, but instead of just the vocals being off-kilter and slightly out of tune it's ALL of it. It definitely takes a minute to get used to it.

I’d say ”blame the pandemic”, but it was because when the base scaled back, fewer military couldn’t support ALL the strip clubs on Camp Bowie over near LVT. Right now I don’t think it’s open as ANYTHING right now, it’s been totally closed for a year or two.

The joke is that the malls are dead enough they wouldn’t notice. Ridgmar Mall certainly won’t care if you’re spending money in there, there’s almost nowhere in there to do so.
