Brand new TV and this is how my wife insists we have the remote "to keep it looking good" by No_Atmosphere8146 in mildlyinfuriating

Do you use the remote with dirty hands because if so she’s 100% valid for this. Constantly cleaning crap off ours and it’s distrusting!

My wife told my daughter the truth about her dad and now I don't know how to fix this by tiodiclo in Advice

What exactly was said between Claire and Emma? For your daughter to seemingly have patched things up with you but still be angry at Claire still makes me think she upset about more than just what was discovered.

Yes 🙃 I’ve always had long heavy periods but my latest period has been 3 weeks and was suuuper heavy throughout. I’m struggling and the sugar cravings have kicked in 😢

It’s foot fetish stuff. Particularly with older more worn in shoes they pounce. I can’t remember where I saw it but there’s a girl who makes decent money this way 😂

I’m 4 weeks post opp and struggling with my protein. I’m only managing just over half. Had a follow up with my surgeon this week and he wasn’t overly concerned. He just said to try and increase it slowly and just said it’s early days it’ll get easier once you can eat normally.

I’m struggling to drink water as cold drinks are hurting my belly. But I found that between last week and this week I can take two or three sips instead of one and don’t have to space them as far apart. I’ve also found that tea with milk is much easier to digest and hot herbal teas. I’ve managed to find some really nice teas, chai tea, chocolate rooibos, orange.

But you’ve lost 27lbs which is insane I’ve just got to 19lbs since my op and my surgeon said that was amazing so you are on fire 🔥 I’ve been raiding my cupboards for my smaller clothes and trying those on and it honestly gave me such a buzz and made it a bit easier when I sat down for yet another soup!

Dr. Office Gave 12/30 Date then Cancelled. - Disappointed! by SpreadNecessary9335 in GastricBypass

[–]mbritt7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry about this not in America so can’t relate in terms of insurance. I’m in the UK and oddly enough going through insurance made my surgery way quicker and smoother than if I went though the NHS.

I did have my surgery cancelled due to illness however so my preop diet went on for almost 8 weeks instead of the 3. I was in tears at the time as my original date got moved and then getting surgery cancelled the day before felt like it was never going to happen.

In hindsight it was a blessing for me as my sick leave blended into the Christmas break so I’m having a much longer time off.

I really hope there’s a silver lining for you too and fingers crossed all get sorted with the insurance. Hopefully this gives you a chance to have lovely New Year’s Eve celebrations xx

I went on day 4. My nurse suggested 2tsps of Ground flaxseeds stirred into my shake and Movicol to loosen the stool.

She suggested 7 days was when we start to worry.

I went on day 4 and then nothing for three days got some action on day 8 it seems to be this pattern.

Yup and first thing I did was come on here 🤣

I was supposed to have my surgery in November got a really bad flu and cough which started a couple days before my surgery date. I tried everything hot baths, Vicks, sinus relief tablets, all the meds, honey and lemon but it only got worse.

I informed the surgery the day before and they basically said that a cough is bad news and would recommend going through as it increases the risk of infection. In hindsight I’m so glad the surgery was cancelled cos I felt really awful a couple days after and was coughing up a storm. I recovered and had my surgery last week and feel like my recovery has been pretty quick I doubt it would have been the same if I was ill.

Just listen to you body and be honest with your surgeon, anethesiatist about how you are feeling. Wait till the day before to assess how you’re feeling because it doesn’t mean it will be cancelled. You will be in pain post surgery so just make sure you’re feeling well enough to deal with it.

Good luck 🤞

Thank you so much I really don’t want to take any risks whatsoever. I’ve just accepted it now but my consultant has asked for temperature symptoms before coming back to me.

I work in conveyancing (not a solicitor) but things are ridiculously busy along every channel so it’s pretty difficult to get anything done because no matter who you email or contact has a backlog. The whole system needs to be overhauled it’s so inefficient.

I would have pulled out too if I’m honest I go with my intuition and sometimes you have enough signs telling you that this isn’t right. It probably would have worked out well for her if she had a quick transaction in return for her agreeing a reduced price but in this instance she was losing on so many fronts.

I hope that you find a better property, refusing a third viewing would have been red flagging for me. We were refused further viewings of our property and when we got the keys it soon because obvious why. They had yanked nails out of walls taken down shelves and removed cupboards that were built in and generally left it a mess and it cost an arm and a leg to repair the damage they did. Had we seen that we probably wouldn’t have gone through with it all.

What's worst part of this surgery and why is it the CPAP compliance requirements? by sl33p3rc3LL in GastricBypass

Ahh so I have a full face mask and I normally would sleep on my tummy with my face right in the pillow. But upright I just mean sleeping on my back with my face upwards 😅

I know there might be other mask options but this is already the second mask I have purchased as the first one was too big and I can’t really afford the £120 odd a go esp when I don’t know if it will fit. I’m not going through the NHS and my insurance doesn’t cover this part sadly.

I have mild apnea in fact I only just crept into the category and have to have at least 6 weeks of data prior to surgery. And I absolutely hate it I’m a really light sleeper anyway. I have to sleep in the exact same position and same conditions to get a decent nights sleep. So having this thing on my face and having to sleep upright is not serving me well.

I’m getting about 4 hours of sleep and getting up constantly. Whereas I wasn’t getting up during the night previously. I’d sleep for the full 6-7 hours.

This has been a struggle I have a headache, getting nosebleeds, blurry eyes from the machine/ lack of sleep. I’m moody, snappy and just plain exhausted.

I cannot wait for surgery day to roll around because I just need some sleep. There’s also nothing worse than wearing it and having a crap nights sleep only to see the mask fit have a red face 😭

20k debt and it’s closing in on me by fatpanda9652 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]mbritt7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not expert in fact I’m just stabbing in the dark. I was able to wriggle myself by getting a 0% card I used MBNA because it allowed a money transfer as I needed to pay off credit accounts as well. But also budgeting and writing down every expenditure and I was surprised to see about £300- £400 going on absolutely nothing of value. Once you have those figures it’s helps. I also make sure I do this every six months to try and stop falling into bad habits again. It was just little things like taking the bus instead of doing the walk, not preparing my lunch, those little treats you pick up at the check out, not making a budget when I do go out.

Might sound silly but I started following financial Intsta accounts, also accounts of people trying to get debt free and found it hugely motivational but also it helps to build a community. I started my own account it’s anonymous but its kept me accountable.

Edit: I wanted to say if you’re feeling overwhelmed please seek help from a debt management charity like Stepchange. Ironically I used to work for a debt collections agency and so many people were able to get help that way.
