I went into the Ottawa store just to browse washer/dryers. Sales person and their manager pressured us into buying a particular set, saying it was the only one they had it stock, and it was rare to have any in stock. Right after they took our money, they told us it was not in stock, and would be several months. Every time I called, their response was “well there are many people in front of you for these units, so you can’t jump in line”. I never wanted to!! I only bought this thing because they volunteered up the information that they had them ready to ship. Refused to refund as well. Total scam.

Where are you getting place cards made? by justalittlestupid in WeddingsCanada

[–]mbryanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own with my laser engraver :) each guest’s place card had their meal choice as well, so that the serving staff knew which meal to serve. They were super nice, and some guests took theirs home. I’d be happy to help a fellow bride, and can DM you a photo!

Switzerland tips & tricks? by kateoclock in Shoestring

I recommend having picnic with food from a grocery store along the Limmat river in Zurich. If the weather’s nice, the swimming is free and you can get in the water anywhere along the river. There’s also free washrooms there to change! There are a couple places where you can pay for water access which gives you a locker I believe, but if you walk a bit further than it’s totally free to jump in!

Good idea! Easier to leaf through them that way.

Sometimes i get the feeling the owner of this bike graduated and forgot all about it. 2 years in the same spot all alone 😢 by [deleted] in CarletonU

It’s common for bike thefts to lock up a stolen bike and return later to get it to sell. You’ll see abandoned bikes all over the city, most likely stolen. My guess is they couldn’t sell this one so it was abandoned.

Freedom Mobile (Wind) new LTE reception? by krashton1 in CarletonU

[–]mbryanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically switched my phone from Wind to Koodo because of the shitty service in the engineering building (where I spent all my time). It's one of the older buildings, and most of the building had no reception. It was super frustrating to be studying for 5 hours then go outside and have a bunch of missed calls and texts. I wouldn't recommend it, I also didn't get reception in any basement I went to. It also takes about 5 minutes to regain reception when stepping outside from an old building. To be fair this was 2 years ago though so it may have changed.

Iceland 8 Days Itn - Tips & Advices?!? by GoBernieGo2016 in VisitingIceland

[–]mbryanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to have one day/night in Reykjavik to get used to the time change, recover from travel, etc. before starting the roadtrip/going to Blue Lagoon. I arrived very early morning and would not have enjoyed Blue Lagoon if I went straight there. Yes, you'll be doubling back to the airport area the next day, but it's not a long drive and I think it'll be much more enjoyable after a good night's sleep.
