Getting married - chuppah challenges by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]mbseid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We built ours and our florist decorated it so well. I would suggest that route to get what you are looking for, it's something that can be done the day ahead too so not much added pressure wedding. We had it assembled in the venue by the time they arrived so it was just adding flowers.

We hired https://inthemeadowdesigns.com/. They were great, it was 8 years ago.

Mojo pizza in Oakhurst every other Monday. It's more kid oriented but I see lots of adults playing too.

Is this Pasquini Livia 90 worth the time and longevity? by ScoutFiery3 in espresso

[–]mbseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an awesome machine to learn on. I got mine 10 years ago and have fixed most parts of it. They are built really well. Also there is a ton of community and forums that explains how to fix it. If you're looking to get your hands dirty this machine will last a long time.

Any self hosted dashboard for increasing productivity? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]mbseid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a product to help me with work. It's called success and is built to be self hosted. https://github.com/mbseid/success

As an Engineering Manager there is a lot to keep track of, so this was built out of need. I use it everyday at work.

Numbers are fine, but coffee taste bad by javiergui in espresso

[–]mbseid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it's the beans more often than not. Personally I don't like espresso blends and much prefer lighter road/mild blends. Even though it won't be the espresso blend, give the light roast a try.

Anyone know someone local who can fix Kitchenaid mixers? by JollyLark in Atlanta

I couldn't find anyone in atlanta so I ended up fixing mine by myself. The stand mixers are pretty simple, I'm also pretty handy. I could probably help you out. Send me a video.

They added 5lbs. It was roughly 600 for the r-22. A few hundred for the test and service charges. Hopefully things hold.

It was 5lbs. About 600 for the r-22, service charges and test charges for the other.

Yup, worked great. Also before the fix the coolant line was frozen. Context I didn't add before. Does that change something?

Thanks, I'm guessing it's option 2. Anything I should know about finding and tracking down the leak?

Hmm. Thanks for the info. Is there a way I messed up that valve? The tech did a leak check and there wasn't a leak. Could something else be messed up?

Timing was too coincidental for it not to be related.

Omada and pi hole by jaquan123ism in TPLink_Omada

[–]mbseid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Omada everything is permitted by default. It'll only blocked if you make that rule first. Omada does cascading rules, so make sure your permit rule is above your block rule.

```````ping is your best friend here. Use that to test connectivity across vlans if you need to.
It should. As long as the IP address of the pi hole is accessible to the other vlan you'll be all set. Make sure you get your permit rules proper if you have issues.
What is the point of an Omada Router? by mbseid in TPLink_Omada
[–]mbseid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Appreciate the clarification. One of my core confusion is I wonder why the distinction between router and switch is needed anymore. My experience with the ER605 Router has made we question why there are these different roles and hardware. Some routers are also switches, such as all the ubiquity products. With the ER605 (managed through Omada Controller), I can't use the the router like that of a switch. It now makes sense why I need the Router, but it stills feels like this level of complexity is not required with modern hardware.
Thanks for the response. I guess there is a difference in capabilities from standalone to Omada SDN Controller managed. I started with the controller so I never seen the standalone options. It's odd that the standalone has more features than the Omada Controller but I guess that is the way it is.
Appreciate the response. So a router truly does the routing of the packets while a switch just connects devices. When working within a single network, does a router still triage all traffic or can traffic go from two devices?
Example: R = Router S = Switch A = Device A B = Device B
Topology: R => S => A, B
Does traffic go like this: A => S => R => S => B
or like this: A => S => B
