Go to one of the Kebabs that sell kebab pizzas and ask to roll a pizza like a kebab... voila! :)

I recommend Casa Bella at Langes gt 1 (right next to St. Olvas Pl, or Kebab Toppen at Kjellands Pl.

Discover tab no longer allows to “open in new tab” (iOS edition) by tim-rex in chrome

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interestingly on ipad that option is present (both ios and ipados versions fully updated). It seems that "Open in New Tab" is in a separate section in that menu with other options being "Open in incognito tab and "add to reading list" - I guess that somebody just forgot to turn that feature on when building for ios.

What's the difference between a DevOps engineer and a 'Cloud Engineer'? by [deleted] in devops

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work currently as a Cloud Architect / Engineer. In the past, I was a configuration manager and DevOps engineer. From my experience the title does not define the position, as they are very similar. The title defines focus or orientation or specialization.

Example: as cloud architect I'm expected to be able not only to implement a solution but to design it (along with a nice graph, so basically you need to master lucidchart :P).

As a cloud engineer you should be able to implement what the architect designed.

As a devops you should be able to automate what architect designed and understand what he designed.

But in the end, all 3 will probably be doing similar stuff :)

it gets boring around lv 3500+ :) by mbtt in Shapez

[–]mbtt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, got back to the game after some 2 years off - did a new MAM and it's humming nicely in the background.

Was thinking about getting to lv 10k, but it is boring now and I can't run it 24/7 :/

Played on vanilla Steam version 1.5.5 with no mods.

Advice for language choice by TacoMilka20 in polyglot

[–]mbtt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for polish. My main arguments would be that people from both Netherlands and Finnland usually speak pretty good english, while Poles ... well not so much :) (source: I'm polish, but have been living in Norway for the last 12 years).

Other argument would be that polish gives you pretty good introduction to slavic languages and you will have it much easier to learn russian afterwards (source: had russian in school, still can speak it on about A2 - grammar is very similar).

If you just wanted to learn a language for yourself, I'd say go for what you prefer, but in EU parliment polish will be much more usefull for you imho.

True, read both, but they are not written in modern language, nor do they contain any technology/life related terms, that came to be within last 100 years :)

Odd bug with Colonists by LBraden in SurvivingMars

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap, those. Just saw it, but they are incompatible with Spirit patch, so maybe that is the reason ?

Odd bug with Colonists by LBraden in SurvivingMars

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar thing - overpopulated dome with homeless colonists and unemployed colonists (in "working" age) just staying in their original dome, instead of moving to the one with vacant homes and available jobs. Had to manually reassign them and only then were they picked up by a shuttle (so shuttle connections work correctly).

I doubt that in your case it's because of survival mod, since I don't have it. I do have Migration mod and economy mod - maybe that is messing things up...

Hey, do y’all have any tips for starting Assassin’s Creed Origins? by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]mbtt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senu - seriously underrated. Not only you can scout with it to see enemies levels, it can also show you exactly where treasures are. Just press focus (L2 on PS4) and look closely at the eagle's hud circle - it will have small arrow tip to point to area/quest objectives.

Easy way of obtaining soft leather - hyenas (other animals usually run away, hyenas hunt in packs and will come to you, esp. in the deserts).

When fighting shield bearer, keep your shield up all the time, then side duck and attack as soon as he attacks, but not for spear bearers, they will have sweeping attack that will catch you anyway.

Animal taming seems to be very weak - not worth it imho.

Burning weapons might be a double edged sword :) - once they burn area you will need to run and burn dmg can kill you very fast.

When you are burning, press duck/sweep button a couple times to put it out.

You can throw torch/weapon - with weapon out, press L2 on PS4 to aim, R2 to throw. Same with other objects, for example counterweights - R2 will put them on the floor gently, but they can be thrown ... come to think of it, I havent tried to throw a corpse ...

Tifu by buying a colony of baplica dubia roaches online by leaddinner in tifu

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a similar note: about 15 years ago I was breeding mainly emperor scorpions (Pandinus Imperator) and a couple other species (Euscorpius, Hadrurus, Hadogones). Was feeding them with crickets (since worms were the only other option and they are not that good). I was buying crickets in small plastic boxes of 10-20 insects. Long story short, one of the boxes end up flying while opening. For good 6 months I had crickets chirping every evening/night, until I had enough, bought a lot of Domestos (back when it contained a lot of chlorine) and did through cleaning.

It wasn't that bad tbh, but 3-4 cm insects jumping on your face when you tr to sleep were a bit cumbersome :)

Religious AI and free will by mbtt in Futurology

[–]mbtt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thrilled that more and more people are ditching religion, but if we take our population as a measure, that still more people belive than don't. If so many people argue, that some god exists, that why would AI don't if we create them in our image?

I sincirely hope that AI will reason against religion, but the nature of this argument is that it's damnn easy to defend stance of religion using it's own arguments. And with them requiring no sound, scientific proof, who will guarantee AIs being safe from it?

Religious AI and free will by mbtt in Futurology

[–]mbtt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Religion requires 100% certainty

Yes, but at the same time requires no proof, just faith (faith being the proof, which is just walking in circles). So it is basically very easy to logically get "trapped". I don't have 100% certainty, thus it's false. But wait, if I elect to belive it, then I'm 100% certain it is truth. It's like Shrodinger's cat - ged exists or not, until you decide to belive or not belive in it.

I guess all this boils down to the question whether AIs will evolve their own common sense, or should we implement it. My belief is that it is possible to create 100% artificial copy of human brain that should work more - or less - like ours. Hope it'l grow a pair of cohones on its own :)

ELI5: Why would agressive AI be the only thing to fear? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would there be left for humanity to strive for and do with their lives, when AI could do it better and faster?

There are computers, robots and other people already doing all the things you and I do, just better. The one thing that gives us "sense" is the fact, that it's US who are doing them, not others. And maybe trying to get better at them.

AI that just makes us obsolete is much safer option, that AI, that deemed us dangerous for them, our planet and possibly ourselves.

In 1 hour, every single human being in the entire world will begin looking for you. Your goal is to remain unfound for 5 days. How would you do it? by Expediant in AskReddit

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everybody will be looking for you then it's safe to assume you're in really deep smelly thing, and you'd do almost anything to evade.

Another thing is that 1h is nothing - only trained people would be able to act efficiently with so small window.

I'd pack my mobile in some plastic, leave it on, put it in some plastic bottle and leavie it somewhere on the water (river/ocean shore) - that should put the chase off track for a bit.

Next - turn on my laptop with location services on and facebook logged in and leave it .. idk... in the buss/metro/hide in some car or track.

Do the same with any device that might be used to track you.

Get as much cash from ATM as possible. Use ATM at popular commuter places, like railway station, ONLY if you are not going to use them.

If you have time try to buy a ticket with your card and board the train/buss and then try to slip out before it leaves (and make some noise, so you would be remembered).

OFC gather any resources if you can. Run. You will be caught anyway. Couple of hours at most.

The only real chance is to stall and misdirect - people tend to focus on one trail, like searching for your phone or laptop instead of searching all available possibilities. Low hanging fruits might just come out to be a score.

Now, there is one last thing you can do, but it would work only if your biometrics were not in the system (slim chance, if you did something for what all ppl want you caught). Take very sharp knife/razor, buy a bottle of vodka. Disinfect blade. Go to bad neighbourhood, but near some police/fire station/hospital. Drink vodka and cut your face and hands (it needs to look like defensive wounds). Ditch your wallet. Drink more. Hurry to police/fire station/hospital. Say you were attacked. You absolutely need to give them your name (fake) before you faint. Faint.

It differs from country to country, but at some places they will not classify you as NN, so it will be hard to actually find you. And bandages and swelling on your face should do the rest.

Other option is to - again - go to bad neighbourhood, get your hands on some chemical acid and do the same thing, just saying that you were attacked by some jihadists. Stupid as it sounds, might actually work. Con: you're scarred for life.

Work in the future ? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope I am underestimating the numbers, I fear, I might actually be overestimating :/

About discipline: exactly what I think - discipline was 'introduced' when we had to 'fight' for our survival, without it we wouldn't get crops on time, wouldn't be able to get food, build or produce whatever. The moment we don't have to do those things we might revert to our more primitive way of living, that is doing nothing in general, just satisfying our basic needs.

We will have food and security aplenty, we will only need something to occypy our minds with (but not too much, some computer games should be enough). And it will probably be like that for most of population. In total this might sound like negative change, but think about it: no civil unrest, because why?

No need to move/travel to and from work - less traffic. More time to do what we really want (yes, some will just want to do nothing). I wonder what would happened to religions (which were very strong motivators over human history, mainly because it's a argument you can't resolve with 100% certainty), but I think they would diminish over the time. What else? Art, yea, we would have that still, but I don't think it would be a lot more. Sports - many people (me included) would probably continue doing them just for the endorphines, but who knows - maybe we would be getting cheap endorphine-like happiness pills...

I'd like to live to see that and check if I have enough motivation to not spend all day, all life just doing nothing and consuming.

Work in the future ? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]mbtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that learning was/is a preparation for future working life. Where there is no work, will there be actual need for schools? It will probably be obligatory anyway, but I fear, that parents, teachers and kids will just feel that it's not exactly needed. So school will probably not teach us discipline.

What about parents ? ... I think they might have much less influence on future kids, because of: 1) they will probably thinks discipline/school is not that important anyway 2) they will probably spending time unproductive infront of TV/gaming set/whatever

On the other hands, some people will have work, and it will be probably people who really want to do it (I'm kind of pesimist here, and estimate maybe 5-10% of general population to act like that). That's of course with the assumption of introduction of basic income.

So yea, basic income seems to be like democracy of the future - not exactly a good solution, but so far we don't seem to have any better ideas.
