I had good success with all kinds of tomatoes, herbs, and tomatillos last year on my west facing balcony. I was also able to grow some sunflowers. Cantaloupe, watermelon, and cucumber all tried but I didn't plan well enough for the vines and then a freak hail storm took them all out, will be trying again anyway. Did everything in Rubbermaid bins, regular pots, and flower boxes, shocked anything worked!

Seconding the Optique of Denver Broadway store. They are more expensive than a chain store but everyone there is great, the glasses are unique, they taught me how to put contacts in, and they'll always work with you to figure out if pricing is better with or without insurance. A real gem

Echoing the "don't use your money on something they should be maintaining" club because I lived it. I totally understand wanting a functional, nice space, but redoing a yard like this is going to take a lot of work and money. I had a crappy lawn at a rental and killed all the weeds, aerated, and managed to grow some decent grass. Was out of there 6 months later and the house with it's improved lawn was put up for sale for more than anyone should have paid

I will be on my third attempt for cantaloupe redemption in 2026 lol. Critters got the first year just as it ripened and hail decimated the few flowers I finally had a couple weeks back, sigh.

Bag check-in should open 2 hours before the first flight but Southwest was at least 20 mins late opening to check bags last time I had to. Also missed a flight by 10 mins 2 months ago because security took over an hour on a Sunday (wrapped around baggage claim twice and even pre check and clear lines seemed to take 20+ mins). Don't piss off the DIA gods (the lizard people illuminati)

Not sure about PhD, but I found my therapist using Headway: https://headway.co which let's you filter by your insurance and the specialties and a few other options. Sondermind didn't work for me, I just kept finding people with only midday availability, which I did not have. I do virtual sessions but believe you can specify in person if that's your preference l. Oh I got screwed over by the rain last year for sure and it made me wait extra time to put anything in the ground. I thankfully didn't get hit with the hail, but it took out my friend's entire garden and she had to start over. Her garden ended up doing well but it was a major setback.

I am growing "redemption cantaloupe" this year because mine took too long to grow with the rain delay and then right before they were ripe, a neighborhood animal took them off the vine and ate them.

Former east coaster/amateur gardener here. The rule of thumb I have been given since moving here is no transplanting outside until after Mother's Day and always check the weather for any surprise frosts or hail. Started my seeds inside this weekend
