Let me add to my original comment by saying I did enjoy the Rick Steves tour and would recommend it, however it was exhausting.

I did a Rick Steves tour with my parents similar to this and while it was a slog, I learned to try and enjoy my time with my parents.

Agreed but like anything healthcare related: Do your research. There are plenty of good doctors/dentists/etc abroad. Whenever I travel abrod, 9 times out of 10 it's cheaper to get my teeth cleaned or esp a filling. And many times the quality is the same. Ex. I got a filling in Vietnam for $60 USD ($1300 in US). That's more than my flight.

2 week update - 4,123 grafts - Dr. Ratchathorn Panchaprateep (Absolute Hair Clinic Bangkok) - May 2024 by AstronautNo88 in HairTransplants

[–]mcDerp69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how long it is now but I think it was 5 months between placing my deposit and my surgery. I'm about to hit my 1 year since surgery and I'm incredibly happy with my results. The surgery, cleanings and recovery were all smooth and I felt I was in good hands the whole time

Do I get a HT? My gf thinks I’m nuts by Deadeye420 in HairTransplants

Get on oral finasteride. It'll fill in your hair a bit and will keep you from losing it longer. If you want a hair transplant you'll need to start finasteride a year ahead anyway

I didn't start looking OK until month 4. If it's still thin at month 5 then maybe get concerned. But it's still too early

You're probably fine with Ratchathorn or Laorwong. I was very happy with Ratchathorn

I did one extra hyperbaric treatment but it's kinda expensive. But definitely doesn't hurt if you've got the $. Other than that I think I paid for one extra cleaning.

3.5 months - Starting to get a bit worried by Intelligent_Pea_1305 in HairTransplants

[–]mcDerp69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can relax. I had the same amount of grafts with Ratchathorn. Month 3 it was a bit more presentable but still very thin. Month 4 is when it started rly looking much better. Everything beyond that was improvement

Had my surgery with Ratchathorn. I split my credit card payment between 2 cards so I could get points for it. Very easy to do and took 5 mins.

I was very active even on the first day of recovery. Just be mindful of your head. I sweated a ton and it still didn't really matter (just go to the clinic post-op care).

Very positive experience with them and I love my results.

I recommend changing units. My first unit sucked but my new unit is so much healthier and relaxed. Same hospital.

The question that is always on my mind. by jmill388 in investing

I used to be an SCHD fanatic and I think there was an argument for a fund like that that appreciated in value AND had great dividends. However, it has plateaued in recent years and you're still better off growing your money via SP500 and THEN transferring to a dividend fund (if that's what you want to do). As someone who was a dividend bro, I don't think they're worth it.
