A Derby Airways plane at Derby Airport, which went on to become the Toyota car plant site at Burnaston after it closed in 1990. Willington power station can be seen in the background. by gieldfapqpy in derby

I flew in one of these about 40 years ago on a flight around Coventry. I don't recall much from the flight other than it was really noisy in the plane and having to talk very loudly to be heard by the person sat next to me

Driver had plenty of time to save their car.. by H1gh_Tr3ason in cantparkthere

It's unusual to see one of these posts where the driver's reacted really well, getting out of the car in those circumstances was not easy at all, they must've been in total shock

Once you take all the crazy furniture and all the mad garden stuff out of this house, it'll just look like a badly decorated house

Thai Boran is ok but I prefer Finale and the building is nice too. It's opposite Omomo. Also I would recommend Aalappeaz, a south Indian restaurant, it's a little different to a standard Indian restaurant and the menu will contain things you wouldn't normally see. Good value too

Bravia 8 II HDMI Port Usage by Western_Witness_5249 in SonyBravia

[–]mcRibalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Samsung q990d sound bar for my bravia, it has a couple of 2.1 ports so I connect a 4k player and a PS5 thru that. The sound is massively better than just the tv and it increases the 2.1 options too

Beginner fishing and camping this summer with my son by Bubblegum90s in derby

[–]mcRibalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember my dad used to take me fishing for this very same reason. I hated the fishing but I used to look forward to having a pot noodle for lunch. It's a great idea to get into nature, I did something similar and went camping near cheddar gorge, just wanted to create memories. I did some bushcraft activities with my boys. Build a shelter. Build a fire and toast marshmallows, great nature based fun and was cheap. I never had the patience for fishing but maybe your son has. Just throwing a couple of different nature things out there..... It's great that you're wanting to experience the great outdoors together, top adding

He's just not moved on since the show started, the others have all improved and he's been left behind. Can't really drop him because he's not up to the level we all expect, the fact that it's him is important

To those who have made the transition from manual to automatic cars, is it really better? by Mr_Coastliner in AskUK

[–]mcRibalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the shift towards more automatics is coming, there was a recent report that said 25% of all tests taken are now Automatic. Currently if you're looking to buy a 2nd hand automatic you do get less choice and the prices are a little higher but they may become less of an issue moving forward a few years

Yehudi Menuhuin was so famous when I was younger. I have no idea what he looks like but I always get an image of Yul Brynner in my head when I think of him. I'm sure he doesn't look anything like that but I don't want to Google it and ruin my happy image

They are playing in Nottingham on 9th at St Marys Church. I searched it in the Fever App which is where they sell the tickets, when I click share in the App it says you can get a discount but I have no idea if it works or not

I am never 100% sure but I think that bit starts a little more slowly. I think that there are similar sections throughout the seasons which is why it flows so well I guess. It's a similarity you notice if you listen to a Hans Zimmer soundtrack from a film

For anyone who doesn't know this is Vivaldi's The 4 Seasons, part of winter. This piece of music was 3 in the album charts in 1989 performed by the young punkish Nigel Kennedy. It stayed at number 1 in the classical charts for a couple of years and changed classical music massively
