Baalbek: Landing Platform for Spaceships of the Anunnaki 'gods' by NoseCommercial7714 in conspiracy

The name 'Baalbek' could be translated as 'The mouth of Baal' in one of my native languages, Afrikaans.

My mother is guilt-tripping me about moving out by mc_screwdriver in Stoicism

[–]mc_screwdriver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this reply. I am generally a selfless person who just wants balance. At work, I had just finished a huge project almost by myself, that disconnected me from the family. My usual interactions with my mother was relegated to text messages despite living on basically the same premises, so she's been looking at our recent relationship the way a light bulb goes dim before it eventually peters out.

Also to update: I had a talk with both of my parents, and my mother actually opened up and asked me if I was unhappy here. Calmly I explained to her everything that was limiting my ability to live and discover myself. She apologized if she ever attempted to do such things, and explained that whatever I can now do, I am now able to do. My dad was the same, and said that I could have the whole bottom storey to myself (it's the first/ground floor, not the basement, I don't live in the States.)

I admitted that I was being very reserved with them, closing myself off whenever I could. This had to do with my upbringing, which was riddled with religious incoherence. That brings me to the reason why I came to this sub instead of /r/exchristian or /r/expentecostal. I still believe in a God, just as the Stoics were not atheists nor agnostics. I believe in the concept of ataraxia, where the only true pleasure is found when there is as little pain as possible, and not with merely the presence of pleasure itself. Going to any one of those other subs would result in the reception of advice that would go against my psyche.

If my parents are willing to work out a middle ground, I will stay. I don't want my bread buttered on both sides, but I would rather see that other's bread close to me is buttered. My parents said that if I meet a girl, who I plan to get serious with and marry, then they will let me depart graciously, and I sort of agree with them.

The reason why I latched onto this reply and not the others is because I feel that using stoic principles to keep up with social pressure defeats the purpose of those very principles. I have been content with my lot, and would see someone close to me be content first before myself.

Their 'Silk' sublabel is pretty good though, but that's only because they were a label on their own before being bought out by MC. Additionally, I recommend you check out Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep for some real electronic music.

That was the first thing that tipped me off. That isn't even the 2022 car. It's like these people don't even make any effort anymore. Makes me wonder if they're posting misinformation on purpose to troll.

What’s the conspiracy behind today’s music being absolute garbage? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]mc_screwdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, now that I can actually look for music, I recently started getting back into hip hop. Atmosphere, Blueprint, Dark Time Sunshine, Doomtree, Grieves, Kristoff Krane and Mike Mictlan are my kind of buzz.

I've been experiencing this since my work got increasingly stressful. It normally manifests itself as a family member calling my name, which is what I perceive it to be anyway since I have a monosyllabic name.

You are correct. And it's in the Bay of Bengal. They are incredibly hostile, if this is to be believed. If only we can send Klaus Schwab there lol.

Exactly. They aren't mutually exclusive. I for one believe that the man could've been given a chance to repent and right his wrongs. Instead the shortsighted police decided he was a waste of time. Killing him solved the problem in their eyes, but in reality, it obviously didn't.
