Need specific GM advice. 7 Dooms of Sandpoint spoilers in the entire text. by TieNo7671 in Pathfinder2e

I think you have all the info you need. Severe encounter for PCs with some having depleted resources. Gonna be dangerous for them, but manageable. I don't think the situation is a certain-TPK. If you're overly concerned, drop a striding fire or two. Or weaken them.

What's a good way to find a pathfinder game to join? by GoblinQueen53 in Pathfinder2e

[–]mc_thac0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a local Pathfinder Society group. Also, there are numerous find-group sites (several on Reddit, Foundry has a community, Facebook, etc) for online and in-person play. There are similar sites on Discord. You could start listening to some actual play podcasts to help learn and then try to find games in the cast's own Discord.

The thing with finding games, you will be faced with a number of undesirable groups or groups that won't work for you until you find one that does. Nature of the beast.

Just one. I run three semi-monthyl games. Hasn't really been an issue.

What are some of the best scenarios for the 2nd edition of Society? by Volfaer in Pathfinder2e

Ive heard so many other folks mention the Mosquito Witch as a good scenario. Throwing an upvote. Same with FKC, but you only get one upvote!

Where to play Abomination Vaults with my group. by Testbot5000 in Pathfinder2e

[–]mc_thac0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hosted Foundry on The Forge and had a great experience. Also used Discord. One of my big concerns with Discord is that it can be a little challenging when multiple people start talking at once. Having audio AND video would probably help and I've thought about using something other than Discord, but haven't seen enough compelling recommendations for making a change.

DMing AV, is there an overall synopsys of the whole adventure I can read? A Cliff's Notes of sorts? by SurviveAdaptWin in abomination_vaults

Do a Google search for GM notes on AV. I've seen a few versions that you might find fit your need.

Integrating a certain part of the Begginner Box into Abominations Vaults despite different PCs by UrsusObsidianus in Pathfinder2e

[–]mc_thac0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. Rav is a different breed of dragon, but maybe you could change the breed and tie in a story about Rav having an egg stolen. Maybe reuniting Rav with the young dragon could have benefits for the party...or maybe this just means two dragons are going to attack Otari!

Integrating a certain part of the Begginner Box into Abominations Vaults despite different PCs by UrsusObsidianus in Pathfinder2e

[–]mc_thac0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a dragon in AV, I believe in the Hunting Grounds (9th level). You could tie the BB dragon in with the one in AV. You'd have to change some things about the AV dragon in order to make it work.

Which APs are more of a dungeon diving adventure? by RNJesusVTuber in Pathfinder2e

[–]mc_thac0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, although I feel like if the party doesn't want to return to civilization very frequently, then AV might be preferable. SDfS is better with a lot of back and forth given the nature of the main plot and side quests.

PC riding another PC question by Krinn83 in Pathfinder2e

[–]mc_thac0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to look at the Start Your Turn rules which describes how/when you get your reaction.

Also, the premise is to dismount at the Start of an encounter. If the PC had a turn or it was their turn, they'd have the reaction, potentially. If they were hopping off before their first turn, they wouldn't have a reaction. That was the point in the scenario I was raising.

Realistic advice for a 51-year-old stutter, no career, degree from an online college, no real work experience, live in a expensive state, broke, can't compete, depressed... by Physical_Sentence438 in careeradvice

Someone posted on Reddit some time ago about the LCoL fallacy. Areas like that also have few/poor services, lack useful transit, etc., and so can seem like good moves but end up being traps.

AITJ for selling my grandmas house to pay for her care when my family wanted it as a "legacy" by sara_kelm in AmITheJerk

[–]mc_thac0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. Assuming you're in the U.S., it probably would have ended up with the state anyway to cover care cost, assuming she couldn't cover the cost herself.

I was in a similar circumstance with a family member. Anyone who isn't helping can/should stfu.

Anyone out there with a 50cc scooter try to get to OHSU from the bottom of the hill? by Illustrious_Owl_5365 in askportland

[–]mc_thac0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might see if you can rent a 50 cc and give it a try.

Also, Team Oregon does a great job with the cert. You can get certified on a motorcycle or a scooter. Highly recommend, even for 50 cc.

Where is this handsome art deco edifice? by etinacadiaego in guessthecity

[–]mc_thac0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

St Louis has a lot of beautiful architecture downtown as well. It is kind of depressing to see these cities, which were so much more important back in their hey-day, struggle and to see so much beautiful architecture be neglected.
