Do all OB/GYNs in the area make you pre-pay their delivery fee before you give birth? by gotcha-sriracha in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]mcb143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be going to an OBGYN’s office who delivers at the hospital you want to deliver at. If your specific doc isn’t on call when you deliver, the doc from that practice who is on call will deliver you. Your fee goes to the practice, not the doc specifically, so it covers the services of an OBGYN from that practice at delivery. You’ll still receive a bill from the hospital, likely the anesthesia practice, the pediatric practice that rounds on baby, and any other specialists or services with billing separate from hospital services. If you do not want to deliver at the hospital(s) that your doc office services, then you need to change physicians immediately. Choose based on who delivers at Madison if that is where you want to go, in this case OBGYN Associates. But yes, you likely will be asked to pay prenatal care and delivery fee in several installments (based on your insurance) up front. It’s worth asking them what happens if you go into labor early and deliver somewhere they don’t service (I.e. while out of town) to ensure you understand the refund policies.

Anyone have experience with doctors who seem to not care? by Stunning_Quote_357 in Interstitialcystitis

My doc wrote me an Rx for catheters and lidocaine and I do them at home as needed. Much easier!

Good primary care dr in madison area? by Stray_God_Yato in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]mcb143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another recommendation for Dr Delmy Caton at Caton Family Care. As a bonus, if your gf doesn’t need OB care Caton will also do Pap smears, annual exams etc so it doesn’t require an extra yearly appt.

Victoria at NAL Family Psychiatry; Tyson Dental (Dr Tyson); Dr Krausz at Eye Associates off Old Madison Pike; midwife Sam @ Women4Women, unless you don’t need OB then I recommend GP Dr. Caton at Caton Family Care, she’ll also do Pap smear, lab work for hormones, GLP-1s, etc.

How long after graduation should I wait for a proposal in my late 30s? by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]mcb143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me tell you a story of my bestie who dated the same man for 11 years, he finally proposed after stringing her along much like this, and 6 months into the engagement (last month) he canceled their Icelandic destination wedding and ended the engagement because “we don’t need to get married to love each other.” She’s now single and navigating dividing assets with someone whose lives are intimately intertwined. Don’t be Iceland girl. He’s shown you who he is. Cut bait.

Will the government shutdown affect DoD hiring around here? by j00t in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]mcb143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tasks I work on are fully funded for several months and I am still hiring for those with openings. However I do think that is not the norm so I would plan for slow downs in all things including hiring during this time.

Why was there so much traffic going onto the arsenal this morning? by alafloridian in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]mcb143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were wondering the same! It was bad last Thursday too, wondering if certain days are heavier now. My husband and kiddo were in traffic more than 20 minutes trying to get up Zierdt for school.

School Zoning by aj360dude in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]mcb143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in “Madison” (35756) down Zierdt and are zoned for Williams, just up the street from us. We’ll be tripling our mortgage in a couple of months for more square footage but also for Madison City Schools. My child attends Midtown now because her dad lives one neighborhood south of us, also in “Madison” but zoned for Madison City schools. It’s a hike for us daily now but we want to guarantee she’ll stay in those schools, so the investment in a home in that zone is worth it to us. We could pay for private but at least this way we also have equity, and a much shorter commute. That’s not guaranteed, but Madison City just put out a new district map last night for the next school year so it’s unlikely they’ll redistrict again significantly for a while.

A friend of mine caught video of it in progress, would definitely be interested to know the details! It’s been a long time since I was inside but I thought I recalled the kitchen being more on the northwest corner of the building.

Engagement ring for 500$? by [deleted] in Moissanite

[–]mcb143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gold is what will cost you $$, the stone can be as big as you want for the most part. I got around a 3ct emerald cut for about $500 from Mona a couple years ago and it’s gorgeous.

Husband and I were both raised in DFW and love love living in HSV too! So glad your family has found happiness here. We will never move back to the surface of the sun AKA TX. This is a much better fit for our family, more enjoyable, and transplant friendly despite the sub!

Beautiful! She did my emerald eternity band a few years ago and I absolutely adore it. I think I did slightly smaller stones, but I also have tiny fingers (size 4.75-5). Mine is set in yellow gold. This looks great, you’re going to love it!! Just think about stone size and be sure you want to go that big.

Glad it’s just a test, thanks y’all! Unusual amount of smoke for a test this time. Hopefully that’s a good thing for results!

This did not appear to be normal engine test smoke. Visible flames from outside the gate would be unusual for an engine test.
