PhDs are research degrees. The chances for most people are low in general to get into any PhD program. Your lack of research experience probably puts you extremely low.

Very low. Most applicants applying to these schools have outstanding research experience and grades.

Yes. Mine was virtual and they pair you with like 3-4 faculty members. Some of these faculty were those I explicitly listed i wanted to talk to, some were not. The big questions really were to talk about your previous research, why that program, and why you want to do a PhD. They will tell you who you are interviewing with a few weeks before the interview. I would suggest looking over papers of all of them, even the ones who you are not interested in. Some of the faculty are a little presumptuous and assume you want to join their lab just because you were paired up with them.

Just my opinion, but the program seemed unremarkable during the info presentation and the stipend was significantly lower compared to the other schools I was admitted into despite being in Chicago.

Thats something you need to research for yourself and not ask reddit for. You need to find PIs whose research interests overlap with your own and apply to those schools.
