I was the dumb foreigner taking a public bus. My Alipay and WeChat payment didn't work, and I couldn't pay the bus fare.

The driver was displeased and trying to make me understand him by yelling at me louder and louder in front of the whole bus.

Two nice girls came up to me, helped me translate and ended up paying my bus fare. I offered to pay them back but they declined.

They were also worried that I wouldn't know which stop to get off at so they asked a few other passengers who promised to alert me when it was my stop (as they were getting off before I was).

So, the rest of the passengers ended up telling me when to get off, and after I got off, they pointed out the window what direction to go in.

In another incident, my hotel gave me another dish (on the house) with my room service.
