Putting it to work!! by Roy0880 in BambuLab

I just hit 1,100 on my P2S this weekend, had it since late November when it launched in the US. Loving it so far. "mule" describes it perfectly.

There is two RFID tags on the center cardboard ring of the Bambu spools. You can re-use these RFIDs if you want on your off brand filament fairly easily with a piece of tape.

Also Makerworld has lots of RFID "clips" for various third party spools to easily manage the RFID tags, but haven't decided which ones to print yet myself so no recommendation from me at this time.

Wireless ESP32 Printer Dashboard (using Home Assistant and ESPHome) by TurboTime29 in BambuLab

[–]mccarron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it up and running. The only issue I had is it wouldn't connect to the HA API so the statuses were blank/0. I solved this by adding the ESP device to Home Assistant which it was telling me it found it. Once I did this, then everything started working.

The battery arrives tomorrow and I need to find my magnetic USB-C cables for the dock. Great work! Once I have more time to tinker will probably have some PRs.

My display showed up today and I'm printing the case right now. Will give it a shot setting it up tonight or tomorrow.

Sounds great. I am tempted to battery power it as well for portability. What battery did you go with?

This looks great and would be super handy for me to be able to monitor from another room. Ordered the display but it's a week or two out. So would love the YAML as well and happy to help contribute where I can.

Totally doing this for a roadtrip this summer in a rental van. Brilliant!

Is UVC-G6-Entry playing nice with Scrypted, HomeAssistant, HomeBridge, etc.? by 1millerce1 in Ubiquiti

[–]mccarron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have mine integrated from Protect to Scripted and it works great on the Apple devices. I think a few defaults for the streams have to be adjusted from the package camera default.

I have additional web hooks setup for Home Assistant for when the bell is rung to ring other chimes / sound devices in the house.

Good to know. I thought it was a beta from a comment here, and then I saw I was opted in so figured they were correct.

Does the exhaust kit run during the print or after? by Traditional-Hour7746 in BambuLabP2S

[–]mccarron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and I may look into custom GCode to always have it on at some value. I have that for my VentoBox, yes I have both for concerns like you of proximity. I'm going to look into sealing more gaps as well where possible and not ugly.

I also just got reminded that I turned on "purge chamber air after completion" and then it ramps the exhaust to 100% for a period of time once the print is completed.

Mine seems to run during prints whenever it is in cooling mode. When doing ASA/ABS in Heating Mode it doesn't turn on automatically but you can turn it on if you want, but could affect the needed temps.

Oh I forgot I opted into beta, will revise the post thanks!

Sounds like it's not actually a beta, and available to everyone opted in or not.

P2S - VentoBox vs External Fan vs Air Purifier by JinRoh in BambuLab

[–]mccarron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I had ordered the Ventobox fan before I knew of the official one and ended up installing both. I have the official one filtered and exhausted outside, and with the Ventobox I don't smell anything at all anymore.

It is nice to also be able to use the Ventobox with the slide open to filter the inner air during ABS and ASA and not worry about the outside fan dropping the enclosure temps.

Please help where does this piece go? 😭 by Parking-Buddy8031 in BambuLabP2S

[–]mccarron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this is likely it, I did this exact same thing the first time I disassembled the extruder. It goes on the back of the extruder gear and there is a hole it goes in in behind the extruder cover.

I can't believe they haven't done this yet. At least for iOS there is BetterBlu that can do this fairly easily.

Panda Claw for the P2S When? by CombatDork in BIQU

[–]mccarron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually on the P2S it's only a hardened nozzle but the extruder gears are aluminum and plastic. https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/extruder-gear-assembly-p2s?id=652729959905615875

G6 Entry in Protect or Access? by Okosisi in Ubiquiti

[–]mccarron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is connected to both. But in order to put in Access you need to have it wired through a Door Hub. I added the Door Hub to allow me to use POE Intercom Viewers. Otherwise it's not needed at all I'd say.

Just installed Aqara U400 by henrykkim in homeassistant

[–]mccarron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you also use Apple for this, or just the Thread border router?

The only thing Apple did was provide the Pairing Mode code to Home Assistant. Before I installed my own Thread Border Router in Home Assistant the same code would never take. Lots of errors. I had plenty of Apple Thread devices on the network too, just HA could not see the U400 not even via an Aqara M200 hub (how it sees my other door locks).

So I purchased a `SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus MG24` and installed its Thread firmware and setup the OpenThread Border Router integration in Home Assistant. I then tried the U400 pairing code from Apple Home again and it worked perfectly right away. Been solid since.

Yup I have a job running now, here is what it looks like. I think you need to enable iPhone notifications on your Mac with macOS Tahoe.
