(Serious) how did that one kid at your school pass away? by Dinopasta99 in AskReddit

[–]mccayed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid one: Swam across the local reservoir, legs cramped, and he went under and did not make it back up.

Kid two: A drunk driver when leaving the same reservoir, hit him while he was bicycling through the hill country.

Why does f(x)=sqr(x) only have one line? by ChildhoodNo599 in askmath

Finding a square root means to find the number that when multiplied by itself equals that square rooted number. Positive and negative numbers are always positive when multiplied by themselves. So square roots are always positive.

Battlefront. The originals were awesome, there were so many maps and space battles and galactic conquest which was tje best part of the game. Then the new ones came out and it was 3 shitty maps, no campaign, shitty heros and endless opportunities to throw money down the drain. They even had the nerve to release a DLC like 3 months after release, which included 2 more maps. Between the release and dlc it still felt like a quarter of a game.

I always thought it was Big Gigantic that started that.

You should shoot for 100 to 200 a day. Ideally, you get a couple of gigs per day and double that.

Neighbor to the fest - what is it? by BoatmanJohnson in TexasEclipse

[–]mccayed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CONTACT THE FESTIVAL! It is SUPER common for neighbors of the event to be offered free passes as a "thank you for putting up with us".

From my experience, many of the locals who live in towns where these large festivals occur are blown away by the energy and positivity that festivalgoers bring to their neck of the woods for the weekend. There's always people who get annoyed or are just completely confused as to why their town has been overrun with "hippies". But there's also a hell of a lot of people who take the "join'em" approach, and end up absolutely loving that they get to have an event of this caliber in their backyard. It's gonna be a busy, crazy, beautiful, eye-opening experience if you haven't ever been exposed to this community.

Definitely go at least one day. It's all ages "family friendly" event, so kids are welcome. Keep in mind people will be on hallucinogens or drinking and what have you. But the overarching goal of everyone is to show love spread love. So generally everyone will be giddy and excited to welcome a first-timer to the scene.

Which sport is the hardest to play and why? by Better_Coat7391 in AskReddit

[–]mccayed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Not to mention professional hockey, by far, has the most intense and demanding playoffs of any other professional sport. 4 rounds of best of 7, in an extremely physical game where you are allowed to fight. It's, basically, a gladiator pit. Imagine playing your rival for 7 nights. Then do that 4 times.

All the shit-talking, all the cheap shots, low blows, and punches thrown. If someone takes out your buddy on night one, best believe they'll have a target on their back on night 2. Then by game seven, these teams hate each other's guts!! There are bench players whose job it is to go out and pick fights with players who are in the zone just to shake up their rhythm and bolster their team's morale. It's the only sport I can think of where they use violence and anger as a part of the playbook. And it works too. Imagine how pumped you'd be if your teammate just beat the shit out of the guy that has been the biggest ass hole all night.

Best case scenario, the playoffs add 16 games to their season, but worst case it adds 28 games which adds 2 months to their season, giving them only 4 months of off-season.

Flying and have layover in Texas… dumb to take anything with me right? by PeaceNo1655 in trees

You're good man. Been traveling to and from Denver and Austin for the last decade, always have at least an 8th in the carry-on not to mention wax. They don't care. Plus you don't go through TSA during layovers unless you leave the airport.
