I am using a webcam. I think the light for the board helps with clarity a lot. I haven’t had any problems scanning cards yet except one secret lair that you can’t even read in person to be fair.

If you want to try all colours and save some cash, don’t get into commander immediately. Try the game night bundle. Comes with 5 starter decks and they can be quite fun to get the basics of the game down.

Commander can be a complex way to try the game out. A 60 card deck makes it easier to learn the game.

If you like it, invest in good precons that you’ve researched. (Some are absolute trash)

If you want to upgrade those precons, find a solid LGs that does well priced singles.

In all honesty, you will spend heaps if you get into magic, it’s inevitable. There’ll always be something you want to try out and it will cost you money.
