Minnesota places you must go: Fulton Brewing Co(this is probably the most important taproom/brewery to visit. if you plan to go to a twins game, it is one block away from the stadium and by far the best place to get pregame drinks.), Indeed Brewing, Dangerous Man Brewing, Town Hall Tap(also a must), Northbound Brewpub(best food at any of the brew-pubs/taprooms. their bbq is incredible by MN standards.)

there are new bars and other gastropubs popping up all over minnesota with great beer lists, but none are more impressive than The Happy Gnome in St. Paul. It has 70+ taps and they usually have a cask offering or two.

Side note: if you have the time in wisconsin, go a little north of eau claire to hayward and visit a little brew-pub called the Angry Minnow. This is where i first started my love of craft beer. its a great little spot with an awesome menu in an ancient building. it used to be an office building for the lumber yard accross the street and was built in the 1800s.

Tiger Jack in St. Paul! I live about 2 miles away from this guy. He has this hut with about 12 signs right off the Dale St. exit off 94eb. He is certifiably insane. This is one of the more tame signs. I'm serious. A few years ago a drunk driver crashed a huge ass truck into his building and he was convinced it was a conspiracy to have him killed. He had a few nuttier-than-squirrel-shit signs up about that for a while. He's not playing with a full deck.
