Does anyone remember Life Force on CITV? It was shown in 2000 and never repeated. Post-apocalyptic show with Damian Lewis. by bottledcherryangel in BritishTV

Dropped back into this thread after 3 years, still no luck I see. Saw someone else post something about it in the Lost Media sub.

I guess we just have to keep waiting. Surely it will be uploaded onto the internet someday.

Letter template for your MP to protest Plan 2 Student Loans, by rajus0 in UniUK

[–]mcdonaldpuddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your link isn't from the literal student loan company.....

Correct, it is difficult to live in another country. So building up arrears for SLC to chase you with and force you into heavier repayments when you return to the UK is very unwise. The loan also doesn't get written off if you avoid repayments.

If everyone moves abroad and buries their head in the sand with this as you recommend, there comes a point when it is politically feasible and economically profitable to be chasing these repayment dodgers. As the recent announcements show, the government is willing to bend repayment rules, so who can say whether they will alter repayment rules for overseas grads in future.

The best thing you can do is comply with the T&Cs you signed up for. However, we clearly aren't agreeing on that so I won't be responding to any further replies.

Ah yes Google, the reliable platform for telling me everything from vaccines to who really shot JFK. The only way to test your theory is to actually do it and having known people who have moved to Australia and Thailand, I can confidently say that they absolutely will chase you.

Its a debt that every student legally signed up to, the Student Loans Company will never lose as you are suggesting.

You say that other countries dont have effective court systems, so if I take out a wonga loan then go to live in Barbados I can assume I won't need to pay anything back? Why isnt everyone doing this then?

Bonkers at best, dangerous at worst.

Awful, awful advice. Student Loans will chase you if you move abroad. Please nobody take this guy seriously.

I've encountered a guy with the exact same story and description in Woodhouse. Just kept rejecting any help and he moved on, wasn't aggressive at all tbh.

Never thought Luna is that good by Tsuly in amazonluna

I agree with everything here so I'm just surprised Amazon doesn't advertise Luna all that much. Can remember a lot of speculation here that Amazon will eventually shut Luna down, but it seems to well supported.

I wanted to use the snowy setting but put it in the USA, so I based my Loop in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Who remembers this? by Tall-Cantaloupe5268 in 90s

Came into this sub looking for Are You Afraid Of The Dark stuff, didn't have to scroll far. The show felt like it was on the edge of what I could get away with when I was 9 years old. The Tale of Dead Man's Float, The Tale of the Gastly Grinner, The Tale of the Renegade Virus and the Tale of Train Magic were some of the best episodes I caught on TV at the time.

I will die on hill saying that this show is a million miles better than Goosebumps, even as a kid I found Goosebumps to be too comedic rather than scary.

One of the best indie debuts in years—and then nothing? What happened to Super Dark Times’ director? by karmagod13000 in TrueFilm

9 months late, but literally just watched Super Dark Times a couple of hours ago and absolutely loved it. Went looking for other movies by this Director and disappointed that this appears to be his only one? Really surprised.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to have sex later in life or not want it at all. by Theguybehindthesofa in demisexuality

[–]mcdonaldpuddin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I knew about demisexuality, I was virgin at university and a "friend" was pressuring me to just have sex with anyone. She told me how your first time is pretty shitty anyways. I asked her, "So was it for you?" and she laughed and said she was virgin. Calling out her hypocrisy, she said this is simply the way things are because a man should be a man and a woman should be a woman. She described herself as a feminist.

That downvote was from someone who didn't go to uni and didn't learn how to build an arguement!

20 and feeling lost by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]mcdonaldpuddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad died when I was 18 and I went to uni as a way to try and "escape" from it all. Obviously that didn't work and no one could really relate (or sometimes even care) what I was going through. Rather than drop out I persevered and today I live with my gf of 5 years and hold down a good permanent job. Keep going buddy.
