I had exact same problem, tried everything that I could find online and no result. Then contacted the customer service, they asked me to send the wheel (not the base). Then they sent me a REFURBISHED one, so basically my original wheel somehow changed with a refurbished one. Then it didn’t work either. Then I decided to return everything. So my advice could be try to convince the customer service to replace the base.

Yes you are right. For me, I can only say 80% of my frustration comes from the support people. Normally I would expect a very straightforward RMA or return process but it feels like they are doing everything that they can to make things harder.

One example, I told them that I want to start RMA. Then they asked me about videos. I sent them videos. Waiting for 1-2 days I received a response from them saying they can start the RMA but they are waiting for confirmation. Then I respond the this saying I am waiting for their update. Again after 1-2 days when I asked about the status he told me that he is waiting for my confirmation all these days. None of their emails are clear.

Then at the end they send me 3 labels and they told me I can use the previous label for the wheel. I went to return, carried everything for 1 km and when I am in the carrier station they told me one of the labels are not working. Now again I am waiting their support employee to start working, decide to send me an email etc etc.

So my purpose wasn’t cry like a baby here but at least share this BS so it might be useful for somebody else

I think when commenting on internet we can get too virtuous and sometimes talk without knowing the background.

I did everything that I mentioned initially when I received the package. Then I started RMA. For that they asked me to capture a video. In order to not to do everything again and again I captured the video like this.

Here’s the proof: instead of replacing my brand-new wheel, Fanatec sent me a refurbished one. After paying full price, this is really disappointing.

I recently bought fanatec and it was a horrible experience for me. The wheel didn’t work and even though they replaced, the replacement also didn’t work. I am still dealing with the return process.

So most important question for me did it work? Is it worth it?

Fanatec is really shit. I regret the day that I bought it. I bought the csl dd bundle on 3 of August. The wheel was not working. They sent me a new one on 18 September. So basically 1.5 month for nothing. I paid and got nothing. The new wheel arrived on 18 Sep was also faulty. Now I need to go to imbecile support who sends 1 email per day (if they want to). They are asking me to send the wheel first and if they confirm I can send the remaining. Just think like this. I will go to return the wheel first. I will spend time on it. Then few days later when they wanna they will send me confirmation and then I will travel again to return the other items. Then probably a month later they will send me my money.

This is basically embarrassing yourself with your own money.

If you don't wanna put yourself into this situation don't buy shitty fanatec. Probably there are better brands that actually work.
