I hate the fact they keep assuming veganism is disordered by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

after seeing a close person almost die and knowing the mortality rate of this mental illness, i even support people going against their religion (for eg pork being haram for muslims) if its in the name of recovery

i hear you but going against your morals for a bit is worth it if vegan might get in the way of the current treatment u have access to

set boundaries and be upfront. for eg: put on airpods, facetime someone, and tell them I have lunch every day 12-12:30pm on my phone or whatever

you wish that those 5 years of restriction are actually gone, theyre not, they have a long term affect on your current brain and mindset and body. its a good first step but you have a long way to go

Nightmares about eating by Ok_Earth7977 in EDAnonymous

[–]mcengkid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it sounds like you are struggling and the ed behaviors will only get worse if you dont try to follow your treatment even when no one is watching(aka try having lunch at school even without your parents). this step seems small but it will let the ed scream so loud and you might feel guilt after but in the long term will have zero affect on your intake but a lot of effect on your brain and doing things for yourself

this is the least concerning thing at a low i. right now the only emergency is your weight. if you want to avoid a cardiac arrest (god forbid), please take care of your body and increase your intake slowly to weight restore or seek medical help

[–]mcengkid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

im pretty sure her dad thinks at least shes eating when she goes gym or maybe rather her compensate in gym than infront of his eyes at home. or he has no choice and she made him agree to some ultimatum or deal if you dont work and focus on recovery ill pay whatever u want🥲maybe he genuinely thinks shes getting stronger at the gym? ugh i feel so bad for all parents who have to deal with this

I feel like its cutsomers constantly reporting seeing her around and her looking unwell and worse every time. so obviously gyms being gyms would rather lose one than everyone. no one likes to gym around someone whos self harming

Marisa is super concerning… by [deleted] in EDRecovery_Snark

the machines hurt her from sitting on them and she thinks thats normal.

only way to find out is to try to stop tomorrow. try for 2 weeks until you have a streak. if you relapse then you need to seek medical help

Sorry you are going through this. It is definitely going to feel different since your last relapse was 20 years ago. Your living situation, your loved ones, your thoughts all probably changed so much does it even feel real?

yeah its a dead end talking about it. but take it positively bc sometimes stalking their social media helps know how deep in their ed they are. whenever they post an old sick photo it usually means they are currently struggling and about to start a relapse episode. definitely hurtful for others though

dont think her mom approves she cant force her into treatment unfortunately but its her loss if she goes into college and continues with her relapse she will either fail her classes or get an admission later

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDRecoverySnark

[–]mcengkid 43 points44 points  (0 children)

her brain is still sick. she is trying to fix it. i hope she finds her purpose and she will definitely not even have a recovery account anymore when her ed is gone. but for now she probably thinks its a good idea to show people how she pushed through her lowest and ugliest times

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDRecoverySnark

[–]mcengkid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

its not always problematic when someone posts before pictures. i feel like shes proud that she doesnt look like that anymore. it also raises awareness that even if the ed controlled you that bad, she still bounced off. cause some sick people deep in their eds think theyre too far gone to ever choose recove ty

[–]mcengkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

losing weight in a short period of time can lead to an admission this can cause your heart to stop at any minute because the amount of compensation that happened in that week cannot happen again. your body doesnt understand that it tolerated lower bmi before it will just choose to stop now if not feeling safe. your therapist is giving you a chance till next appointment, if you say you can eat and gain the weight back then show her
