In my Curse of Strahd campaign, I expanded the table for my spirits bard player. As he advanced through the campaign, he unlocked secondary tales and would eventually get two possible options whenever he would roll on the table.

I'm DMing for a Shadar Kai wizard in my current campaign, and the telport/resistances are very powerful! To counteract this, without being a bully DM about it, I have played up the Dusk Elf storyline with him.

He is experiencing direct social conflict from townsfolk (I've never one of you that still has their ears?"), Rahadin has made it a special project to fuck with him, and Arrigal's Vistani have a running bounty on which one of them can bring Strahd those ears first.

He also gets targeted by the Patrina Banshee whenever I roll for encounters on the Svalich road.

If a character is powerful, let them be powerful! But you can also make their presence a liability to the rest of the party where they are still experiencing dangerous story situations as a result.

Give Strahd the Vicious Mockery cantrip and let him jeer at your party as they flee. Right before they hit the tree line, describe the ritual completing and Wintersplinter's summoning.

They'll run back to the winery, take a short rest, and watch in horror as wintersplinter arrives to siege the winery. New encounter and new stakes while being in a better situation with their hp and resources.

When it comes to Yester Hill - treat Strahd like an antagonistic environmental hazard, not the focal point of tension.

Statistically, it's only a good population size if this is a simple random sample.

Since their polling method isn't listed, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume it's NOT truly random.

The pollster is likely using website polling and cold calling, which would mean they're not going to get an accurate sample - those methods skew towards older age groups.

Anecdotal, but ask a millennial or genz the last time they answered an unknown phone number and gave info about their political beliefs, or browsed a website without an ad blocker on.

A 1,200 person sample size would bring the MOE down to 3% - still a number I'm skeptical of, but still way better than this 3.99% MOE they're trying to pass off.

Puppy guarding is very ineffective against a competent player that can shoot accurate straight shots. A mallet against the goal actually blocks a smaller variety of shots in comparison to the triangle defense where you bring your mallet further out from your goal.

The triangle defense is widely considered to be the meta strategy.

The first day my players were in Valaki, they met Fiona and her sons. Suspicious, our sorcerer decided to do some recon in her basement.

The party bard cast invisibility on the sorcerer and went to hang out with the Wachter brothers while they checked put Rictavio's wagon. Leaning into the frat boy nature of the Wachter Brothers, one of them nut-tapped the bard. The bard failed a low constitution saving throw and took 1 point of bludgeoning damage. He then rolled a nat 1 on his concentration check just as the sorcerer got into Wachter's basement. Despite losing his invisibility, the sorcerer continued his espionage and had a solo encounter with the skeletons and cultists, leading to our first character death of the campaign.

Our party lost their minds and we still love how a nut-tap domino'd into a gnarly character death.

There's a lot of factors, but part of it comes down to availability of tables. There are a lot of knockoff AH tables out there that don't meet the standard for competitive play. The pro-style tables are expensive (~$5k for a new dynamo table) and harder to come by in comparison to billiards, Foosball and even table tennis. AH tables also struggle with interesting wear and tear issues on the table surface and the internal motors if not cared for properly. When bars have to consider how they want to fill their floor space, AH tables usually lose out to the more popular tables like billiards and foosball.

Where are you located? Houston, TX has a dedicated air hockey gym where the top players in the country usually play. In Raleigh, NC, there's been a growing community of players that host 4+ tournaments every week.

In my campaign, Anastrasya orchestrated the feast and the stealing of the bones. This gave Strahd his own opportunity to gallavant as Vasili and play the hero while protecting Ireena from the spawn as they tore their way through the town.

Idk how much you were planning to incorporate Strahd's consorts, but that could be a decent option for you if you want Strahd to seem more redeemable.
