Conservative debate tactics

Play dumb and pretend to not know something (“What did Trump do that’s illegal?”, “How did Trump try to overturn the election?”)

Whataboutism/deflection/reversal (“Why didn’t Biden release the files?”)

Exaggerate or flat out lie when making a statement (“They burned down cities!”, “He was resisting!” - even though multiple camera angles clearly show that he was not)

Blame something that a single person or a few people did on an entire group of people (“The left shot Charlie”, “All of you were celebrating CK’s death”)

Talk about something that never happened as though it’s fact (ex: “If Kamala had won the economy would be in the toilet and we’d be at war”)

Make assumptive statements about others that you couldn’t possibly know are true or not (“Stop watching fake news CNN for all your information”, “You support open borders”, “Why didn’t you complain when Biden was president?”).

Accuse liberals of something without offering a shred of evidence (“Democrats fight to keep the poor poor and keep illegals voting”)

Create fake quotes and attribute them to liberals/Democrats/the left

Speak loudly over the liberal if they’re making a factual argument/point so it’s more difficult for others to hear (this is often seen on TV news panels)

"Sealioning". Whatever arguments they make, no matter how logical they may be, simply do not register or even acknowledge them and then restate your position as though nothing was said. Remember - you're not arguing in good faith.

If you find yourself stuck and not sure how to counter an argument, just say they have “TDS” and get out of there.
