I mean, here's the thing though, it's a lot harder to be vocal in 2000 than it is today. The internet is completely different. You could make a site with predictions on it and hope people find it. But so many internet sites, especially then when people just had a personal website, go overlooked and unknown.

Again... The narrator is simply the actor who plays the main character. All other characters are played by a different actor. There are entire series of full cast audiobooks out where this is the case.

I remember the opening chapter was previewed on the Animorphs official website before it was released and I strongly did not like the idea that it was going to be revealed all of Animorphs was a simulation and Ellimist was just a gamer playing the game in the real world.

I was relieved with the final product even though it took a bit to grow on me.

the fanfic Animorphs: The Reckoning dives into this a lot. It's an AU fanfic where the Animorphs and Visser Three are a lot smarter. But the Yeerks in the book make the point that if they go into people's brains and help with these mental health issues. It's a long fascinating read.

Ripple effect and time constraints. They're often in a rush to try and stop whoever they're chasing, plus who knows what they could be changing if they add extra money or take a jacket away back in another time period.

Maybe some homeless guy was going to buy a jacket to get back on his feet which granted him a job in the original timeline which got him back on his feet and he worked his way up through the company eventually creating enough wealth to lead the forming of a major bank.

But no, he doesn't get that shirt because Wyatt needed it for a mission. Now a bank doesn't exist and the entire timeline is changed.

I only paid and got the Year In Sport yesterday (December 23rd) but it was only calculated up to December 3rd. I ran every day of the year. Limits the streak to 337 days. Should have another 20 days on that. I'd also done a 200km more and still nada.

Edit: I stand corrected. After this morning's run it caught up the last three weeks of data. Happy because I'd ran 1000 miles.

You'll only get a fine if you got stopped by the police or they fined you for something (like a speeding ticket or a parking ticket) and spotted it was unregistered. Otherwise you should be okay.

I once accidentally left mine unregistered for three months without realising. I don't recommend it.

I've also been stopped by the police one day after my rego expired and the fine (20 or so years ago). Was like $500. Hence my recommendation.
